Below are my picks of the five people most likely to wind up sharing a ticket with Trump. These rankings are based on conversations with Republicans, a study of Trump's public comments about the various people in the VP mix and plain old intuition.
5. Joni Ernst
The senator from Iowa has a very bright political future ahead of her. Ernst emerged as a surprising star of the 2014 Senate class with a sterling resume (military background, time spent in state legislature, etc.) and a gift for communicating. She's well-liked by many in the party and is seen as a fresh face -- factors that should appeal to Trump. The question is whether Ernst wants to hitch her wagon -- and her political future -- to The Donald.
4. Bob Corker

2. Mary Fallin

I personally think Mike Huckabee would be an excellent choice.
?
Not wild about any of them except maybe Joni. I’m worried if it is a woman it will 1) seem like pandering and 2) let the media drag out all the crap they used against Palin and she won’t know what hit her. Krispy Kreme and Knute? Terrible choices.
Doubt Mcsally...”Before deciding if she’ll vote for Donald Trump, Martha McSally says she’ll spend the next six months “determining what kind of man he is.”

Trump isn’t a politician and g e should pick someone who isn’t a politician. The politicians have sold this country out.
Also she endorsed Rubio, which was not a smart political move.
Thank you for the insight. Another Joni Ernst it seems. What is going on with American ‘women’? Seriously as a female myself it seems at times I’m very much alone marching to the beat of another drummer.
But Trump has said he wants/needs someone with legislative experience.
Well, I’m glad no one listens to Chris Cillizza.
Ernst jumped on board the Cheap Labor Express as soon as she arrived in the District of Corruption.
No cheap labor importers.
Rand Paul, Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee
I think Sessions would be the best despite his age. I think age is not a big a deal now. Sessions has both legislative and judiciary experience. I think he was in the Guard or Reserves also. He is as solid as they come.
McSally is another McCain wannabe. She is a Cheap Labor Express stooge and just this week voted with the Democrats to codify Obama’s transgender bathroom directive.
Your first clue is that anybody endorsing Rubio is a Cheap Labor Express stooge.
After the travesty of the Corker bill, standing the Constitution on its head to give Obama his Iran “deal”, who in their right mind would suggest Corker?
I agree. Love Sessions. I don’t have an issue with his age at all.
Washington Compost drivel. Ignore.
“What is going on with American women?”
I ask myself that often.
DJT needs a VP that can deliver either Ohio, Pennsylvania or Florida. I think he thinks he can carry Florida and PA on his own so he needs an Ohioan to be VP. I cannot stomach Kasich but he may be the answer - Trump has gone out of his way (as he has with Ryan) to avoid criticism of Kasich even though he says he doesn’t want the job. If I were Trump I would hold my nose and tap Kasich.
Nobody needs Ohio THAT badly!
He’s considering me but I only accepted the offer if he agreed to keep me anonymous...........
