Thanks for the insight. This speculation about Trump’s running mate is rather frustrating. I hope Mr. Trump’s search is going much more smoothly and that he sees a strong compatible running mate who may also swing a battleground state.
I briefly thought of Senator Grassley from Iowa but age rules him out. There is Senator Johnson from Wisconsin, who is in a tough reelection battle with Feingold.
Dan Quayle recommended Ohio’s Senator Portman, who I gather is strong on trade issues.
Senator Toomey in Pennsylvania, also involved in a tight reelection race, publicly said he voted for Cruz.
Rubio has declined and Florida Governor Scott wants to keep his job in the Sunshine State.
There probably is an obvious choice right under our noses!
On the other hand, Mr. Trump may have a Yuge surprise in store for us!! I wonder if he’ll be able to keep it a secret until the convention begins???
Thanks again for telling me what Ernst had said.

Wikipedia I know, but interesting, particularly primary endorsements between Trump announcing and winning Indiana.

DJT needs a VP that can deliver either Ohio, Pennsylvania or Florida. I think he thinks he can carry Florida and PA on his own so he needs an Ohioan to be VP. I cannot stomach Kasich but he may be the answer - Trump has gone out of his way (as he has with Ryan) to avoid criticism of Kasich even though he says he doesn’t want the job. If I were Trump I would hold my nose and tap Kasich.
