No. No compromise. "All forms." I know which site I'm at. Do you?

Founder's statement

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.

I agree, remove it or make it more pragmatic. As it is currently written, it is irrelevant and used only to beat up fellow Republicans. Lyn' Ted's scheming only highlights this more.

Trump should team with Gingrich to write a new set of planks, limited to 5-7 meaningful items that everyone can agree to. Keep it simple and real.

Do either of you stand at an abortion mill nearly every day? I do. Please don't lecture me on using Google, and assume a 1990 article speaks to the present, or that an article speaking of the ex-Mrs. Roger Stone speaks of him.

If Roger Stone is proabortion, I will digest that info. Does it mean anything in relation to Trump? I'll await evidence.

I oppose all forms of abortion. But, I realized that in the evil world we live in it will never go away. We must work to save those we can rather than losing all.

I’ll take saving 95% at the current time.

As long you cap it below 100% you’re for killing babies. “Saving those we can” Who are the 5% who should be trashed—baby parts and all?

Who cares what Stone is for? He will never have any effect on the Republican platform, etc.

You’re aware that the issue is abortion?

Cruz is lying. There was an article out that said Cruz wanted to insert a "conscience clause", at least for 2020, freeing delegates on the first ballot. Cruz delegates also wanted to fight Trump on free trade.

The abortion angle is just Cruz's way of obfuscating his real, degenerate, bread-man agenda.

I don’t believe liars or their lies.

So you either believe Ben Carson is a pedophile or you don't believe Donald Trump because he lied about Carson in a most despicable way.

-—So you advocate dropping the pro-life plank?
.
.
.
lets face it, the GOP doesn’t have a pro-life plank... they have a “Raise Money On a Pro Life Plank”

nothing more than lip service

In 2016, the big issue is immigration. All other issues are of lower priority, however important they may be to you.

If the present demographic shift continues, then by 2024, it will be impossible to elect a conservative to national office.

At that point, the Dems will be able to pass whatever they please. They can require all hospitals to offer third-trimester abortion as a condition of receiving federal funding, and 99% of hospitals will comply.

In the meanwhile, by the use of under-the-radar campaigns to make increasingly difficult to operate abortion clinics, the number of such has been reduced over the years.

Whenever we stage a frontal assault on abortion, we lose. By steadily maintaining pressure, we will win.

Doesn’t make sense to me. Murder of any kind is murder, whether or not it is totally stopped. No, legal abortion hasn’t been totally stopped yet, but legislatures in several states have managed to make opening abortion clinics or keeping them open much less likely, not to mention the more personal laws about wait periods, reducing abortion time limits and forcing abortion salespeople to have to show their mark a sonogram before a decision is made. How do you ignore what Republicans have accomplished?

If the platform changes because of Trump, I don’t see a really good reason to vote for anyone who can’t get the basics right. On Judgment Day, killing innocent babies is going to override crossing a border without permission. And no, I do not support illegal border crossing aside from seeking sanctuary from evil people/governments.

Cruz has let a lot of people down. He will not be able to gather much support for anything.

My hope is that the Cruz delegates to the convention keep the platform conservative. That will be their purpose and reason for going.

Even the smartest folks make mistakes. What makes them smart is the ability to recognize and correct mistakes.

The hallmark of a dumbass is to dig into a falsified hypothesis rather than to consider alternatives.

Whoah hey buddy be gentle with those poor saps who thought anybody in the GOP actually meant any of that pro-life stuff... while advocating the death penalty and perpetual global war doctrines.

When Trump said if abortion is made illegal should women be punished for having abortions, and he said yes. And then a whole bunch of “pro-life” GOP types threw a fit and exposed themselves as total phonies.

Not so fast.

"Pro-life GOP types," even here on FreeRepublic, tend to be of the "Soup-kitchen" variety. They're "pro-life" as long as you agree to make provision for the care and feeding of the woman.

Point out that no man can force a woman to get an abortion, nor can he prevent her from getting an abortion, or suggest that giving men the right to "paper-abortions" will restore the natural societal dynamic of reproduction, and you will experience a level of hate and condemnation seldom seen outside of liberal echo chambers.

You act like they're mutually exclusive.

The only way they’re not mutually exclusive is if you believe the justice system has and always will have a perfect record in such cases. Otherwise one must acknowledge that having the death penalty means putting some innocents to death along with the guilty.
