GOP convention planners are trying to deal with the fact that few governors, Senators, and senatorial candidates will be attending the gathering in July.
Along with dozens of House members likely to skip the conclave, the absence of establishment Republicans may undercut Trump's call for party unity, say some analysts.
But other say that Trump doesn't need these politicians anyway - he won without them and will go on without their support if necessary.

Frankly, I think it a few that will NOT be attending. Which is great because the "message" will be unified, consistent and delivered from the best speakers and supporters. Really couldn't have planned a better outcome.
Lol. 100% correct, which is also why I will NEVER, under any circumstances, vote for another POS "Republican" ever again, for any reason. Trump will be my only "R" vote this election, and going forward. The Repugnant GOP has screwed it's base over far too many times. I'm done with them.

I find this quite hilarious, for many a electoral season I have voted for the “Clown’s” they have told me I have to vote for if I am going to stop America from going in the toilet. So, I did, and America has still slid into the toilet! Well, I am sorry but I have eat enough $hit from the GOPe! I say, let them boycott, for I as one do not care!...I guess they do not like it when the people speak and don’t need or reject their lofty guidance. Hell, their empty seats will be available for real Americans who want to make it great again!

I've been wondering what each and every one of these scumbags ARE PLANNING to have happen. IMO they are responsible for any physical attack of any kind that happens even to threaten Trump.
If he's physically harmed or killed, they should probably leave the US because of the widespread rage that could result against them. This is not a personal threat from me; just a rational evaluation of the threat to Trump and to the obvious perps IF they do something to harm him.
I hope Rolling Thunder will be there to prevent a physical rush on the building and I'm sure that Trump will make sure that there are no bombs etc.

The so-called “elites” aren’t colluding to pull off some horrid event. They just don’t want to be associated with Trump.
It’s their choice, very American. May backfire on them, particularly if he manages to win, but to suggest some nefarious plot really is getting into tinfoil territory.
With the current mood in the country and nutjobs on both sides running their mouths, I expect violence and disruptions at both conventions this summer.
Looney tunes on both ends of the spectrum.
I personally wouldn’t want to be in either convention city and don’t blame anyone else who avoids the mayhem — particularly those who are no longer in politics.
