“Never Trump did serve the purpose of showing to the general voting public just how opposed many in the Establishment are to him.”
Also weeded out some of the most vile alleged freepers ever, who squealed their love for Cruz but hatred for everyone else, who then mostly quietly exited for “consistent conservative” greener pastures.
Good riddance!
We both started out supporting Cruz in the spring of 2015 but when Trump appeared on the scene, I threw my support behind him and never looked back. He looked like a winner to me and Cruz looked more and more like another conservative that couldn't win it.
Well, I turned out to be right. Trump has won the nomination and Cruz lost. Or so I thought. This classmate I mention is on the warpath for my head simply because she found out I voted for Trump in my primary. She is livid. She still thinks Cruz can win it at the convention with some sort of delegate skullduggery. I suppose that could happen....in her dreams.
But now this gal is on a constant tirade, ranting and raving about how evil Trump is and is very angry that Cruz dropped out of the race after Indiana. She sounds like she's upset because he didn't call her personally and clear his decision to suspend his campaign with her first, before he threw in the towel. She's that angry. And now I am in her crosshairs because she hates Trump supporters as bad as she hates Trump himself.
She's got the Cruz-was-my-guy disease real bad. I don't know if she will ever recover. Sad case.
