In Mexico the dominant social classes are all primarily of european extraction (Spain, Portugal, France, etc.), all the lower classes are peon mestizo (native american mixes), you can see it in every aspect of life there.
The peons are treated much worse than any ethnic group sub group in the United States, for all intents and purposes they are still slaves to their WHITE EUROPEAN masters.
What we get here in the US are their social low (not lower, but the lowest) outcasts; their criminals, lazy, illiterate, trash, that the upper classes have found a convenient place to dump and make somebody else’s problem.

What annoys me and I have to explain to people including those of Mexican background is that many conflate their mestizo background with that of indigenous North American Indian peoples in order to claim North America as their birthright and as if they always have existed in the areas covering Texas through California. I just like to get people to acknowledge that these areas were claimed by Spain when someone planted a flag and were Spanish colonies where Spanish citizens brought some Aztec and people Mexican descent with them to their missions - some as slaves. At the time of Mexican independence in 1821 genealogical records show around 3700 people in Texas of Mexican descent. By 1846 when Texas fought for independence around 40,000 people had arrived there from America and won their freedom. Any claims due to ancestral lineage and some made up mythical Atzlandia land due to our blood rights is on the level of Hitler’s Golden Dawn Aryan nonsense. But La Raza is actually supported by the US government - Mexican “nazis”.
