Memorial Day — I posted on my Facebook page the photographic image and the story of the leaflet the American military dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki five days before dropping the atomic bombs.
The 8 million leaflets dropped on Hiroshima, Nagasaki and other Japanese cities warned residents that the city would be destroyed in a matter of days by powerful American bombs and urged them to save themselves by leaving quickly.

The posting received 80,000 hits in less than four days, an unprecedented response. But that number was not the most surprising thing about the reaction to the story of the Hiroshima leafleting.
What shocked me was the level of outrage, derision and sheer disbelief the story generated. Some people insisted the story was a lie, that it was war propaganda and never happened. In reply, I could only urge the critics to go to Hiroshima, visit the war memorial museum, and see the leaflet for themselves. You see, that’s where I myself first saw it and photographed it.
But mostly, people reading the Facebook posting were outraged that I believe the leaflet matters. The historic act of dropping the atomic bomb made America a racist mass murderer and the leaflet was meaningless. Many people were further incensed that I had added the following comment to the Memorial Day posting: “I am still waiting to see the leaflet Japan dropped on Pearl Harbor.”
What surprised me the most was the undiluted outrage: How dare you suggest that Americans should not feel guilty about dropping the first atomic bomb and killing over 100,000 Japanese civilians! We Americans ARE guilty! We are a racist, bigoted people!
How did it happen that an entire generation of Americans sees only guilt...

Spot on, nearly five months earlier Tokyo was firebombed and nearly 100,000 were killed, but not a peep from the moral relativists!

I was born the year AFTER the end of WWII. My dad, a
hardened combat veteran of N. Africa, Italy & Germany,
who was committed to the “duration of the war, plus six
months” would have eventually been sent to Japan where
every Japanese man, woman & child were ordered by their
rulers to kill the Allied soldiers with ANY weapon at
their disposal. - TRUMAN made the decision to use the
bombs, then slept quite peacefully.
My Dad was an infantryman in Europe after V-E Day & was getting his unit ready to deploy to the Pacific when news came of the atomic bombings. I’m here for that reason.
We were stationed in Japan 1956-58. Nice, friendly people the Japanese we met were.
Still amazing how quickly the war fever in Japan in 1945 was extinguished by the word of their Emperor who basically said, “You now have my permission to surrender”.
Today’s guiltmongering in the schools is absolutely despicable. They need some education on Japanese supremacism and mass atrocities the Japs committed throughout Asia and, oh yes, the Japs had their own atomic research going at the time.
It’s Saul alinskys method. It all hinges on guilt. If we can find a way to snap people out of the PC guilt trip, we can get our country back. People have been conditioned like pavlovs dog to always feel bad about anything to do with being white or American.
A quick read of Flyboys by James Bradley discusses Lemay’s schedule for firebombing Japan in the event the A-bombs were not dropped or failed. Far more casualties would have resulted in the conflagration.
One way or the other the Imperial Japanese war machine was to be suitably softened prior to any invasion which also would have been a terrible cost of human lives; American, and Japanese Military and civilians.
These plans were/are not some obscure doctrine tucked away in darkened, climate controlled, archives. Other publications detail these operational plans as well and these planning doctrines are taught routinely in Defense University, Academy, etc...

My career Navy father, a member of the Old Yorktown swim team, was very glad that it was over.
And just after Nagasaki, we hit Japan again with thousands of conventional bombs. Again, no outrage.
They have become DEMOCRAT/SOCIALIST indoctrination centers.
Don’t fool yourself. I’m a conservative and I’ve been teaching in Los Angeles for 12 years now. It’s not that conservatives can’t be teachers, it’s that most of them WON’T be teachers. We have left the field of teaching to the liberals, and this is what they did with it. We have only ourselves to blame.
