WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela took a poison pen to the Republican presumptive presidential nominee, Donald Trump, in an open letter Monday morning.
"Mr. Trump, you’re a racist and you can take your border wall and shove it up your ass," the Brownsville Democrat wrote in a lengthy missive to the real estate magnate.

By pure coincidence I was flipping the channels in my radio this weekend, and caught a re-run of an old Art Bell program from 1996.
His topic: the promises of the government to stop illegal immigration and to build a wall.
His monologue, and his discussions with callers, could have happened yesterday. And of course, even back then most of his callers were calling about the terrible effects hiring of illegals was having on American workers, especially in the construction trades.

Not by any stretch of the imagination !
They are a "race" only in their minds, and by virtue of a political lobby : "La Raza".
Maybe we should treat the Mexican immigration just like they do in Mexico !

The penalty for immigrating into Mexico without permission : Three years in prison.
The Mexican economy is dependent on Mexican natives sending money back home to support their extended family.
The Mexican "Gross Domestic Production " economy is a result of Mexicans working in the United States, not by any Mexican industry or business.

That's odd. On the version of the story that appeared on my screen, after reading all the way down to the second paragraph, the story mentions that he is a Democrat.
