TWA 800: The Great Untold Story of Our Time
American Thinker ^ | June 7, 2016 | Jack Cashill

Posted on 06/07/2016 5:18:37 PM PDT by Kaslin

On the pleasant summer evening of July 17, 1996, TWA Flight 800 left JFK Airport in New York bound for Paris. Twelve minutes after takeoff, about ten miles south of the popular south shore of Long Island, at least two surface-to-air missiles blew the 747 out of the sky, killing all 230 people on board.

I write the above with 100 percent confidence. I owe that confidence to the efforts of a small corps of committed individuals -- eyewitnesses, independent researchers, whistleblowers from within the investigation, and family members who have turned their grief into action. In attempting to get at the truth, at least three of these people were arrested, several others were thrown off the TWA 800 investigation, and every one of them was ridiculed.

In TWA 800: The Crash, The Cover-Up, The Conspiracy (Regnery: July 5), I get to tell their story, an epic one. What makes the story so compelling is that these everyday citizens have struggled against a Goliath that could not have been more powerful. The opposition includes, among other powers, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the FBI, and the CIA.

In a totalitarian country, authorities can suppress information at will. In America, the media have to collaborate in that suppression, and this they did, closing their eyes to the obvious and accepting without evidence the government’s unproven theory of a spontaneous fuel tank explosion.

Marcel Dadi had just left the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Meeting at Nashville earlier in the week. He had played there and participated in finger style workshops that were held during those meetings. He was Jewish and was on TWA 800. Chet Atkins had proclaimed him as one of the world's certified guitar players which the list is very limited and IMO only had less than ten members.

From where? The aircraft was too high for a shoulder fired missile. There is no chance of a land based missle with the proper range, if you’re going to blame a ship, then which ship? You can’t keep an entire crew silent, not about something like this.

????

The Russians wee driven out of Afghanistan by Osama's minions using stingers, shoulder fired missiles, knocking soviet military aircraft out of the air.

Total attack by moslems on Christian and Jewish brothers and sisters. We were lied too. Let’s start with saudi arabia and finish in tehran.

Not one person mentioned any evidence of a second plane. I saw the radar tapes-—does not appear to be any blip near 800.

We had our very own FReeper running interference - insisting it was the CFT.

“You can’t keep an entire crew silent, not about something like this.”

The crew of the Navy warship that allegedly buried Osama bin Laden at sea seems to be quite tight lipped. Not one cell phone snapshot or video has appeared. No one from the ship has given a statement regarding the burial.

The press and the public seem satisfied with the absence of proof.

Interesting - I’m trying to dig that out of my memory, and I can only think that Jack may have mentioned it during a radio interview. It’s on my follow-up list of stuff that’s going to drive me crazy.

I would think that if the smaller plane (a Cherokee 6 at gross weight [3400 lbs.] weighs about 600 pounds less than a Ford Explorer, as a comparison. It has just a 33’ wingspan and is just over 27 feet long. Not that big. With the transponder off, its physical radar signature would probably blend into the 747’s radar signature, which would be the prominent radar return.

I wish my friend were still here - he was also a radar expert witness and could answer that question in a hot second. Plus, he was one of the sharpest, funniest, and most big-hearted people I ever knew.

Just a couple of thoughts as possibilities.

Well, the CFT was complete rubbish. Every pilot I knew - and there are many — just snorted.

Also, if the second plane ran without the transponder on (either with just Mode A - showing the squawk code - or Mode C - adding the altitude encoding), and without the wingtip, tail, landing, or belly lights (and especially without the strobes flashing) it would be impossible to see from the ground.

Wikipedia says there was explosive residue found (in trace amounts).

"Trace amounts of explosive residue were detected on three samples of material from three separate locations of the recovered airplane wreckage (described by the FBI as a piece of canvas-like material and two pieces of a floor panel).[1]:118 These samples were submitted to the FBI's laboratory in Washington, D.C., which determined that one sample contained traces of cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine (RDX), another nitroglycerin, and the third a combination of RDX and pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN);[1]:118"
And since investigators are saying that a tiny spark caused the FAE in the CWT, then, even if there's no evidence for a missile or "big bomb", it wouldn't take much explosive, placed in the right location, to do the same job that this magic spark is supposed to have done.

I just haven't delved deep enough to form a definitive opinion on TWA-800, but I'd be interested in any book recommendations about this incident...

They picked up the signal of the recorders a few days ago. Should retrieve them shortly (at a fair depth). What is said now is that in the day or two prior...they had three situations where fault-lights were indicating a problem....a flight was either cancelled or delayed...a reset on the problem area was done, and things went OK. There was obviously something that kept repeating as a fault problem and they never got to the original source. I don’t think this will be noted as terrorism in the end.

I’ll repeat the gist of a comment I posted on FR years ago: there is no way in hell that aircraft departed for a transatlantic flight with an empty center fuel tank.

I have posted before what I know.

At the time TWA 800 went down, I was an aerospace engineer. I had been briefed on almost every missile either in the inventory or planned when I worked on SDI.

Based on what I know, the missiles were OURS. They were launched out of a single canister in a torpedo tube from a submerged sub.

The project I was briefed on had added a first stage to a shoulder fired missile to achieve greater altitude. Very importantly, the missile had a new sensor that would ignore chaff, flares, etc. and would home on the largest solid object in the sky. I cannot divulge how this worked, obviously.

The program went black after I was briefed.

I doubt that Clinton or even the SecDef were aware of the test. I doubt that the sub captain even knew what the engineers sent out of his torpedo tube that day because he had no need to know.

I could not say anything at the time because I had an active clearance.

The bottom line is the the press obediently lied to the American people. The Russians and Chicoms knew immediately what we had just tested.

Several nations now have similar systems for subs to protect themselves from aircraft.

Questions?
