California voters made history on Tuesday in the race for the U.S. Senate, sending two Democrats to a November runoff and denying a Republican a spot on the fall ballot for the first time since the states first direct election of senators in 1914.
State Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris won the largest share of the vote and the title of winner in the primary. By the end of the night, Harris led Orange County Rep. Loretta Sanchez by more than 800,000 votes, a margin of 23 percentage points.

I will leave this office blank.
Yippee a choice between Stalin and Trotsky.
Surprise surprise.
When that proposition was put on the ballot I predicted this would happen.
The game was rigged enough but the Democrats wanted to eliminate any chance a Republican would win.
The Democrats own California
Me too. Or maybe write in Larry Elder.
That’s okay. The dems were going to win anyway, unless a principled and inspiring Constitutional Conservative were the nominee. Why give the Republican trash the satisfaction of nominations if they don’t represent us?
BTW Michael Medved supported this primary system.
I never thought I would want to see Sanchez win anything. Yet here I am.
Yippee a choice between Stalin and Trotsky.”
..you beat me to it. LOL
Does “(T)” mean Transgender, as in not Democrat, not Republican but Trans-something?
Trans-Party
Trans-Gender
Trans-Species
Trans-Itory
Trans-Moral
Pretty friggin’ sad ain’t it. I can’t stand mx.harris so again, lesser of two evils for my friends in Cali. Or leave it blank like some have said.
The Democrats own California
It’s OK with me that they own California. I just want to make sure they don’t make me participate in their debts.
Oldplayer
(An Okie who served time in California already)
Trump-cated. LOL!
If, at any time in the future, two republicans are on the final ballot, the Dems will go to court to declare the law unconstitutional.
However, given the conditions in Alta California, not likely to happen in my lifetime...
Well, one could look at it this way: The Californians have done away with the Republican-Wing of the Democrat Party. There might be some long-term positive there if the nation started doing the same. At least we’d not have the wool pulled over our eyes year after year after year...
The goal of La Raza is the return of California to Mexico. I am beginning to think that is a good idea.
I wonder if this has anything to do with California giving driver licenses to illegals and registering them to vote at the same time?
Heh.
Harris is hell bent on gun control, it’s an obsession.
I don’t know how anti gun Sanchez is compared to Harris.
As far as not having a pubbie on the ballot, it would be likely impossible to win anyway. CA is permanently blue dem and soon to be Latino run.
