Why would the left purposefully do this? This would help REPUBLICANS not Democrats. The reverse psychology ideas seem to be irrational conspiracy theories. I only like RATIONAL conspiracy theories.

It makes Obama/Clinton (attached at the hip, for better or worse), look incompetent. Not good for your legacy (starving “your” people, the poor) and not good for your presidential candidacy to be seen as part of the administration that is starving people.
Maybe, what if the system is down? Banks use servers in a remote location, not at the actual bank, if the interwebs are down, you ain't gettin' nothin'.
They’re monitoring a lot more closely where you are. Where we are, they do try to enforce the under 18, in that they try to keep it to kids, but they don’t ask for ID for those who say they’re under 18, but look 30. NO enforcement of the “no seconds” policy. The meals are in take-out containers. They just hand the kids a container, and the kids walk away. I’ve seen moms with strollers or reusable shopping bags sitting at picnic tables, close to where they’re handing out meals. Kid takes the meal to mom, mom sticks meal in bag or stroller, kid gets in line again, gets another meal, gives to mom, repeat process until they have 3-4 meals, then they leave. If mom has 3 kids, each kid goes through several times. If person handing out food questions whether the kid has already been through the line, mom screams racism, so they don’t question.

I wasn’t thinking of servers being down so much as Uncle Sugar, for whatever reason, being unable to charge EBT accounts.

Recently, I was thinking about what 0bama and/or “our Gov’t” could do that would create the most havoc between now and November.
One of my thoughts centered around the EDT/Food Stamp system and a computer glitch. But instead of NOT funding these cards/people, they would OVER FUND them by simply moving the decimal two places. That would be a hundred fold “Error”. Instead of being credited for $100.00, they would get $10,000.
This “glitch” would need a week or so to really play out since I assume that they “should” be able to reverse the so-called error within the their system. In the meantime, there would be millions of people that will have found a way to turn the error into cash.
Now. Just try to get that money back !!!

Under Communism, punishment was reducing food for those who had to work, then the workers would get weaker and weaker, and eventually were unable to do any physical labor, and therefore were no longer fed. It solved three problems. Reduced troublemaker population, reduced burden on State of feeding a non-productive citizen, and increased the amount of goods available for the rest.
The Bible says that if you are able, you are to work, otherwise, you shouldn't get to eat.
Then that would include all ATM transactions.
Even if you have 10k in your checking account...
Could be a rational move to keep at least a few hundred in cash at home...
Plenty of churches and church-based soup kitchens that will even deliver and visit for a while - that's why the Left tries to stifle charitable giving, it offers an option that isn't government-controlled/controlling....

Electronic money be it EBT cards or Credit/Debit cards can disappear simply because those in charge can make it happen with a few keystrokes. You think Roosevelt's Gold Grab was a shocker? There as a Business Insider article on how the big expense categories are going up faster than inflation: food, housing/rent, education, utilities, medical care.
I know utility prices are going up because the feds mandate more green energy and shut down coal fire plants.
I wonder to what degree food prices are driven up by EBT. People with less money don’t have to cut back on junk food or more expensive options, so it drives up prices.
