I use my debit card almost everyday. If it stops working, I go by the bank and withdraw cash. So that was my difference.
We have an underclass as dependent as nestlings with their beaks opening and closing, waiting to be fed.

Most school districts don’t stop the free breakfasts and lunches over the summer, they just move them to parks or the Boys and Girls Clubs or public libraries. They hand out food to anybody who shows up, no questions asked. You see moms sending their kids through the food lines multiple times to get extra meals for the adults and other kids. They stash them in their strollers and off they go. Some churches have even started cashing in and hold their vacation Bible schools and kids day camps in public parks and schedule their times around when the free food is going to be there, so they don’t have to provide food for their attendees, they just send them through the lines.
If there are kids going hungry in the US today, it’s because of parental abuse or neglect, not because some governmental program failed.
That has invariably been the official Communist and Socialist totalitarian position since the 19th Century...

I agree with you on those ideas. And I stated that I don’t like the something-for-nothing thinking. All I’m saying is that the timing is horribly unfair for some children.

There’s a good website, schooldigger.com that compiles and serves up statistics on the public school systems of the country. One data set is the number of students eligible for free/discounted lunch.
Just for giggles I selected Baltimore MD and selected the 10 worst schools. The range of students eligible for free/discount lunch was 94.9 thru 99.0. Don’t even get me going on test scores.
This is not an anomaly. It’s the norm at school districts with certain demographics.
