Will Trump Supporters Defend Themselves?
News Talk Florida ^ | June 9, 2016 | Tim Bryce

Posted on 06/09/2016 10:15:14 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

We're all familiar with the anti-Trump forces protesting at Donald Trump's events. Actually, it's not so much about protesting, as much as it is about inciting a riot. Such events have been well covered by the press which have shown scenes of demonstrators in California waving Mexican flags and burning American flags. Recently, a young woman, who was a Trump supporter, tried to talk to the demonstrators and was attacked for wearing a Trump shirt.

Some of the demonstrators are from liberal organizations bent on defeating Donald Trump in the November election. Not surprising, their tactics are well choreographed. The protesters do not like Trump and do not believe he is entitled to 1st Amendment rights of free speech. In fact, they blame him, not them, for causing the disruptions as a provocateur. Make no mistake, this is anarchy in action. Emmett Rensin, an editor at Vox, a liberal on-line publication, tweeted the following on Friday, June 3rd: "Advice: If Trump comes to your town, start a riot."

Whereas the left wants to incite a disruptive incident, the Trump supporters are restraining themselves, for now. Such hatred only hurts the left in the eyes of Independent voters.

Now let's imagine a scenario where a Trump supporter is cornered by angry demonstrators threatening physical harm, and let's suppose said person is lawfully carrying a concealed weapon. Should the victim feel severely threatened, it would not be surprising for the person to draw their weapon on the anarchists. However, if the person pulls the trigger and discharges the gun, a titanic media storm will ensue much like what we saw in Ferguson and Baltimore. Even if the person was correct in using the gun to protect him/herself, it will be immaterial in the eyes of the media. The press will use this incident to slam Trump, claiming he and his supporters are out of control, and the effect could be catastrophic for the Trump campaign. This is precisely the type of incident the left is hoping for, and why they will keep encouraging it.

Should gun fire erupt on one side, it is also likely the other would return fire thereby causing a battleground even the police wouldn't be able to stop.

This is why it is important for Trump supporters to maintain their composure and do not do anything drastic. Again, Independent voters will see the rioters for what they are: anti-American thugs and criminals. By realizing this, they will likely vote for the Republican candidate.

Let's hope nobody pulls the trigger during this presidential campaign, particularly at the party conventions.

Keep the Faith!

Back from stretching my tendons. I was swinging in the yard and saw a Subaru wagon across the street with the back hatch open, no one around, wtf? Someone was sleeping in it! Neighborhood is turning to crap.

I got it cheap, and it's indestructible...sensing a theme? El Cheapo the Bandido.

But it's hand hammered tempered carbon steel, closer to the Chinese sabers I'm used to, and I got it on "Deal of the Day" at MuseumReplicas ridiculously cheap last year. It's also my exercise for joint therapy...I have "itis" creeping into my shoulders and the recommended exercises use Therabands...but Therabands are for Girly Men!

I totally agree with you. However, here (posted article) is our problem and perhaps, the masters over us want war so they can set up the concentration camps for their opposition. The media will offer all the propaganda necessary and the ignorant will buy it.

That Kukri blade shape has a deadly serious look to it; any intimidation that works in your favor is welcome in a “social encounter”.

Trump supporters could easily take out a can of whip ass for the astro turfed rioters, but the contrast of happy, clean, orderly Trump supporters with the nasty, profane violent mob is worth the forced restraint.

Please more nasty anti American protesters at Trump rally’s. Best pro Trump media possible.

I tend to be rough on knives for some reason.

For that price, I would give that a try.

I believe in using them for everything so they become a normal part of my hand, so they have seen constant use, still open and close tight as an Audi car door ;)

Not so great at cutting vegetables. You kind of have to hold the vegetable in the air over the cooking pot and go whackwhackwhackwhackwhack from the bottom up.

They do not enter jars of peanut butter. i have some standards. ;)

Ex-lefties I’ve known have told me they had training sessions before major demonstrations, on how to prepare for “attacks” by cops and “reactionaries.” (That’s us.)
These tips are good for our side, too, to help minimize injuries.
Each thing can also be considered from both defensive and offensive point of view, ie, good to employ to protect yourself, plus good to note whether or not your opponent is similarly protected, and act accordingly.

Dressing for the occasion included shinguards, kneecap guards, shoulder pads, breast padding, hardhats, helmets or some type of padding under hats.
Vaseline on the eyelids and a pint of milk in the pocket (plastic bottle, security will confiscate glass) to help neutralize tear gas. These two items are extremely important.
Women were told not to wear earrings, as these can be yanked, tearing an earlobe.

There were others I forget.

Also consider a boot knife /push dagger & martial arts training in unarmed self defense.

Till the spring mechanism breaks . better a small fixed blade boot knife or push dagger with a 2-3 inch blade combined with training at your local martial arts school in basic self defense will allow you to quickly & more importantly quietly stop a attacker.

At this point. Trump’s supporters are being offered three choices: 1) allow the ‘protestors’ to assault them, risking injury; 2) avoid the protests, which effectively means staying out of the public events supporting Trump; 3) fight back.

I’m too old to take a beating, and too infirm to fight back anymore, as I did on occasion in the past. So am I just going to have let these ‘protests’ restrict my rights to free speech and assembly?
