Good point. I hope the Brits can maintain their backbone for a bit longer despite the muzzy invasion. I hope we can too!

The UK would do well to isolate themselves and take care of their internal issues.
In light of their national wussification, this is unlikely.
People native to English-speaking nations are at a disadvantage when it comes to open borders.
A Latvian has a great incentive to learn English for cultural and economic reasons.
A Brit has no incentive to learn Latvian and little incentive to move to Latvia.
For Brits, open borders are generally a losing proposition.
To paraphrase one Brit: for the rich, diversity enriches, for the poor, diversity impoverishes.
Anybody that can buy a house near one of the Clinton’s houses has big money and can be expected to behave fairly well.
Countries where people can easily freeze to death need to have welfare systems.
Countries with welfare systems can’t have afford to have open borders.
Even closed Britain will always have at least a 5% economic disadvantage to China because of the need to keep Brits from freezing to death or dying of pneumonia.
This inherent disadvantage shouldn’t be increased.
Starting from about 1970, warmer countries have gained the inherent economic advantage because of hermetically-sealed air conditioning. Our pre-1950 advantage has pretty much disappeared. China’s industrial might now exceeds that of the US and UK combined.
Mexico’s ability to provide warm-weather, ocean view, single family housing exceeds that of the United States by at least four-fold.
