A gunman took multiple people hostage overnight inside Pulse nightclub in Orlando, where "multiple people" were killed and 42 were injured, Orlando Police Chief John Mina said at a morning news conference.
The gunman, who has not been identified, was carrying an assault rifle, a handgun and a "device." The Orange County Sheriff;s Office hazardous device team is now searching the area.
Dozens of emergency vehicles surrounded the chaotic scene at the club at 1912 S. Orange Ave. after the 2 a.m. shooting and rescue squads were transporting multiple victims to area hospitals.

I turned on the Today show at 7 am and first learned of the tragedy. I noticed that they were treating certain things very gingerly, such as the ID of the shooter. Then I clicked on Drudge and saw the Islamic headline.
It is now 7:30 and NBC has not uttered one word about the identity of the killer.

I don't hold out any hope for that. In liberal lalaland, Republicans (esp. religious conservatives) are the root of all evil. To them, conservative views and rhetoric drive people to commit heinous crimes. Also, if citizens were barred from owning guns, all would be sweetness and light. Don't know what their plan is for those pesky explosives, often worn in the form of a vest.

The reason they are careful about announcing stuff is that in the first hours after an attack they have a short Tim to collect intelligence and get to rolling the group up.
We should be used to this by now. Yet I still read posts by people who think they have a “right” to know everything right away. Unless you have a relative in that bar, your “right to know” is trumped by the need to close down this cell.

As much as homosexuality is wrong and completely against God’s will, it doesn’t make it right for someone outside of the law and established law to go in there and kill all of those people. Just wrong.
