My guess is that the people fled toward the exits causing a pile-up similar to what occurred at 'The Station' nightclub fire. At that point he probably just fired into the pile.

I am sick of dumbing down “terrorism” ever since 9/11.
Crimes are not automatically terrorism.
Terrorism requires a tie to an organizational effort, a conspiracy to promote some purpose, as well as mass destruction.
Even though mass murders are horrifying, they are not all “terrorism”. There must be a conspiratorial group effort.
The guy could be a Moslem and even do it because of Islam, but if he is basically acting on his own, it is about the same as any historical mass murders. Since we have this stupid thing called “hate crime” now, I could see them classifying it that way.
It is rare for the media to follow the story on the wounded. For many they will be permanently disabled.
For example it was casually reported that a policeman was shot in the head but saved by his helmet. Well....My guess is that his hearing and balance will have been permanently damaged and he may possibly never be able to this type of job again.
