It’s not surprising that, after the first responders, the first response to the horrific attack that killed 50 or more people at gay nightclub Pulse in Orlando was a sometimes vicious debate.
The instant anger to President Barack Obama’s statement about the attack reflects a deep and growing distrust over how this administration responds to the threat of global terrorism.

The toothless old woman who heads up the Archdiocese of Chicago put out a statement calling for more gun control, expressing solidarity with “our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters, and not mentioning Islam.
The new talking point is that assault weapons are weapons of war...... scary
Meanwhile some 4 million plus assault style weapons killed nobody today despite many being loaded and used. Once again we see the “lack of personal responsibility”, introduced by lawyers (probably Democrats), coming into play. It’s the weapon, not the person. If a car was used as a weapon, say driven into a crowd, would there be a ban on cars or call for creation of a system that automatically shuts the car down upon contact with something?
It pains me to see nations taking in immigrants, many of whom are bent on domination of the host country, without proper precautions. They, like Obama, fail to identify the worst cause of worldwide violence, and sit idle while their citizens suffer. Globalization is a bad idea and will only end with world domination by Islam and its’ extremist groups.
Obama would rather fight a political battle than do anything about the problem.
Gun control is a non-starter. Obama knows this. He is just trying to make his political opponents pay a price.
In doing so, he is taking his eye off the ball.
More and more Americans are seeing through this ploy. I don’t think he will get as much political mileage out of this as he things he will.

No, a tin-eared rep would be ignoring the will of the people (and common sense) and advocating gun control. A rep who listens would not do that.

For certain, if he had been shot by a patron inside the club, less than 50 would be dead. Waiting hours to be treated for gunshot wounds caused many of those deaths.
When seconds count, the police are three hours away.
Simply put, this is too good of an opportunity to pass up. They have to take advantage of every crisis – remember that one? So they will coddle and cater to the LGBT community, and do what they do best – go after rights and the right. Now, my friends are right, the details surrounding the shooter, his religious and voting/party affiliations, the terrorism angle, ISIS in America – that's gone, already forgotten. But the anti-gun disarmament push opportunity is just too good to pass up.
You can see it already in an NBC news video I just caught online. They made sure to mention “AR-15 style” and “high capacity magazine” but because they've dumbed down their audience, they also had to note these were “clips” that hold the rounds… SMH Not one mention of the shooter's name, religion, party affiliation, or pledge to ISIS. Brace yourselves for the coming onslaught of “gun control” initiatives. Here is a question I would like to see put to every single person who voices a pro gun control opinion, or pushes for new laws, etc:
This will be an easy question for you, one that I know you can answer because it does not require any knowledge of firearms, weapons, or tactics. No knowledge of anti-gay hate, no knowledge of Islam, ISIS, police procedures, etc. It only requires knowledge of a topic that I am sure you have. Explain exactly how additional “gun control” laws would prevent incidents like what happened in Orlando. That is, given that the criminal terrorist in cases like this demonstrate a willingness to break a dozen or more laws, many with dozens of “counts” and even ultimately sacrifice their lives, fighting to the death… Please explain your reasoning as to how adding yet another law for them to blithely ignore and break will in any way prevent these kinds of incidents. Please, connect the dots, explain your thought process here. How do you expect this BS you are shoveling to work?
Well, that's my fantasy. But other than when I have confronted a few pro gun control types I've never seen anyone pinned down like this. I've never gotten an answer either – typically just an ad-hominem attack in return. So while the above won't get asked, I'm sure most of the following will occur to one degree or another.

Same question here. I'm pretty sure those 50 weren't killed in the opening firefight, and I doubt that all 50 were killed in the closing minutes of this nightmare. So exactly what did happen inside during those hours? (I'd also like to read a shot-by-shot report on that initial firefight, once the reports come out.)
I think I read somewhere that the gunman holed up inside one of the restrooms with hostages, for at least part of the time, so I would expect the hallway outside that restroom would be lined with cops, six deep.
I would be horrified beyond words if police hung back during the "hostage" situation while hearing multiple gunshots from inside.
And if just one of those hostages had a derringer ...
How many more of my rights do I have to give up to make this country safe for Muslim immigration?
