There was a stunning moment on today’s Morning Joe, when Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson was stumped when asked a simple question. With all the brouhaha over gun control in the wake of the Orlando massacre, what law could have stopped Omar Mateern?
It was, of all people, Sam Stein of the Huffington Post who asked the killer question. Stein pointed out that Mateen was not on the no-fly or terrorist watch list, and had passed a background check. “So what is the actual legislative response” that would have stopped the Orlando attack? Johnson resorted to claiming that Congress had “a lot of ideas,” but could not name one that would have made a difference. He also repeatedly recited the new mantra: gun control is a matter of homeland security. Bottom line: the Dem clamor for gun control is a political stunt. It’s about increasing vote totals, not public safety.

Instead of (paraphrasing) "what exactly would using this language accomplish? what would it change"?, the question(s) that should be asked are, "what exactly would more gun control laws have accomplished? what would it have changed to prevent what happened in Orlando?" Or, paraphrasing Obama again, would the terrorists say, "hey, man, by shooting up a gay night club, we'd now be breaking a few more gun laws on top of the dozens we're already violating, so we better not do it."
And did anyone ever think to ask Obama what, exactly, was to be accomplished by having Michelle hold up a dopey handwritten cardboard sign with the hashtag BringBackOurGirls in the aftermath of the Boko Haram kidnapping of those girls? Was that supposed to have the terrorists quaking in their boots so they'd immediately return the girls unharmed? And Obama had the nerve to criticize Trump for using Twitter?! Unreal!

I’ve Googled the question as to Johnson’s religion in several ways, and see nothing about him being a Muslim. Can you provide a citation?
Jeh Johnson is a Roman Catholic, or at least was for most of his adult life.
WIKIPEDIA says he was married at Corpus Christie Church which I assume is Catholic. So I suppose since he is a democrat that makes him a CINO.
