It’s BS. WaPoo just trying to gaslight Trump and depress his support among conservatives.

I knew from the very beginning that Trump would make deals on gun control. I realized that it is part of his nature to make deals. He also has good instincts for things like the second amendment, but his deal making takes precedence. The only hope we have is to get something in return, not just keep giving up our rights incrementally for nothing.

Everyone is afraid of where the slippery slope will lead. It’s the same with abortion since in the US banning at 9 months can’t even be agreed on due to this same all or nothing slope.

Trump, Trump, he's our man, Second Amendment he will slam!

I'm so glad we ended up with someone who will defend the Second Amendment......apparently not!! What is the next thing he will slide to the left on? Anyone? Let's hear everyone defend him, I feel like it's every previous election all over again, and Trump supporters claim he's not a politician, what a joke.

I haven’t kept up with newsmax, but this is just drive by crap. The only thing worse are the losers on this thread ready to bash Trump over something he hasn’t even done.

This is another hit piece invented to try to steer Trump’s voters away from him..knowing the gun issue is a hot one.

I have yet to hear Trump say anything hinted at in this article. He would not go against his base in any type of gun control.. period.

I do hear those who say “go after the higher powered guns”.. what is wrong with that. You that have raised kids.. they ask for something they know they can’t have ... and so they start out with one request to feel you out to see how far they can go with their real request...
—— that picture is what government will try with our guns and we know it. DUH!

Is Trump better than Hillary? At the presidential level, that is the only relevant question now. At the congressional level, I’ll fight tooth and nail any so-called Republican who caves. But with John McCain and Jeff Flake as senators, I won’t hold my breath.

Perhaps Mr. Trump needs to slow down on off the cuff comments. They are always open to speculation.

"Trump's surprise call for congressional action on new gun-control legislation"

It's no surprise. More than 40 million political people getting their incomes from government want the typical New York lefty to be the president, and they're ecstatic that they'll get him or Hillary. Either way, they'll continue their socialist debt regime a little longer.

No one is really fooled or surprised. It's Trump or Hillary, because they hated Walker for nothing other than his successful efforts to cut big spending on socialists in his state.

Trump just needs to over the gops head and straight to the people. That’s what got him the nomination, fighting the power of the establishment! Verbally kick Ryan in the nuts and roll over him and anyone in gop that stands in the way of numerous things we the people want.

This tells us what the GOP is all about...money. They are willing to go to the wall for guns, which is great except they do it for the wrong reason; they are addicted to NRA money.

That’s why they will fight for guns but not for American jobs; they are addicted to the open borders money. They will sacrifice Americans jobs and lives at the altar of cheap immigrant labor.

They are all whores!

With Hillary America will be so weak it’ll be destroyed by China, Russia and Isis. With Trump we will be like Russia under Putin. I ain’t voting for either one. Johnson/Weld 2016

When did he "call for action"????

He commented he would be open to discussing it and said he would talk it over with the NRA.

Since he may have reacted like so many of us originally did and wonder how the FBI could have let the perp go free to buy guns and kill folks, I opted to send him a few messages about the no-fly-zone bit being a false meme and that in order to stay a 100% 2nd Amendment supporter, he needs to realize just one thing - the Constitution has no "Noble Cause" clause....
