Gun-buy ban for aiding terrorists?
Las Vegas Review-Journal ^ | 19 june 2016 | Ira Stoll

--(snip)

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California, introduced an amendment that would give the attorney general power to “deny the transfer of a firearm if the Attorney General determines, based on the totality of the circumstances, that the transferee represents a threat to public safety based on a reasonable suspicion that the transferee is engaged, or has been engaged, in conduct constituting, in preparation for, in aid of, or related to terrorism, or providing material support or resources therof.”

This may be a bad idea for a variety of reasons.

“providing resources” to terrorists is sufficient to repeal someone’s Second Amendment right to bear arms, President Obama himself might be in jeopardy for championing the $150 billion in sanctions relief that was part of the Iran nuclear deal. Secretary of State Kerry helpfully clarified earlier this year that some of that money would flow to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, “or other entities, some of which are labeled terrorists.”

CNN usefully headlined that admission “John Kerry: Some sanctions relief money for Iran will go to terrorism.”

I’m not calling President Obama or Sen. Feinstein terrorists. But if they are making a list of those providing material resources to terrorists, the Iran-Boeing announcement is a timely reminder that they might want to place themselves on it.”

I’m not calling President Obama or Sen. Feinstein terrorists.

I'm honest enough to call one of the two a terrorist. The other one is simply stupid and aids terrorists either through ignorance or through her lust for continued power.

.....reasonable suspicion ...

Government adjudication without benefit of charges, indictment, trial or sentencing. Straight to punishment.

There is absolutely nothing ANY government official does that is in the realm of "reasonable" in my book. Conviction and punishment without proof. Tyranny.

The way that is written, we’d be in thought-crime territory.

obama played loose and careless with guns they gave to terrorists in the fast and furious fiasco. Now they want every gun owner’s right to be removed... along with their guns...

Don’t think that will work on the average joe citizen.

Please, please pass this. This opens the door for so many GOOD things. Logical inconsistency can be counted on from libtards. If libtards are down with stripping their precious immigrant rights we can now move along to a whole bunch of other stuff they have been insisting we recognize. Speech, travel, you name it. If they are so dumb as to put the camel’s nose in for use let us not waste time making them sleep with the whole camel.

So if the SPLC labels you as a troublemaker, you’re SOL.

Their current “Featured Hate Group” is the American Family Association, the folks that did the petition against Target.

While the SPLC does correctly identify obvious groups such as KKK, it gets a bit too political.

Where their largest crime seems to be rhetoric.

Evidence of which is a membership in the NRA.

Get ready for it, because it's coming. Who's opposing it?

Uses lots of words to give the appearance of due process without actually doing so.

Sounds like they are about to crack down on the terrorists they fear by making the term, terrorist, a very subjective term where the one wielding the political power gets to call whomever they want to a terrorist. My guess is the first class of people they will deem terrorists are the ones that disagree with their wicked and corrupt ways - patriots. May the very Muslims they’re allowing in and protecting be the ones that sever the heads later.

"...that the transferee represents a threat to public safety based on a reasonable suspicion that the transferee is engaged, or has been engaged, in conduct constituting, in preparation for, in aid of, or related to terrorism, or providing material support or resources therof.

Here's a simpler idea, and one for which we need to pass no new law...

Charge and arrest them. Have a trial with a jury of their peers, and if found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, sentence them to prison to protect society.

I think the ‘Rats are aiding terrorists and passing the blame for terrorism on to blame their political enemies.

Absolutely not. Because guess who gets to define “aid” and “terrorist.”. The same people who refuse to call Orlando and San Bernardino acts of Islamic terrorism, but rush to blame the NRA instead.
