This is the GOP replacement for Gabrielle Giffords.

I was at an indoor mall in Phoenix. Air Force band with 30+ people put on a nice show, but multiply that by 50 shows a year...it’s a waste of money.

One of the main functions of the bands is outreach between the base and the community. Playing at schools, marching in parades, education and recruiting. I guess all that would go away.

sponsored by former A-10 pilot Rep. Martha McSally, R-Ariz.

I think Rep McSally just found $500 million to keep the A-10's available for the Army & Marines Close Air Support.

(I'd prefer those funds come out of illegal alien support or Congressional perks)

And diversity goons to lurk around the offices and flight lines.

$500mm a year for bands? How did they come up with this figure? Sounds cooked to me. They dont’ exactly pay overtime.

Exactly, keeping the bands but limiting play just increases the cost per event and makes it a cush job with less to do.

Bet they got the $500 mm figure by adding up total cost all inclusive for the year. This is just more smoke and mirrors feel good crap by the congresswoman. Another show for the sheeple. They come from both sides of the stinking aisle.

A military band would be a lot less expensive than whatever civilian musicians they could ever hope to hire. But, hey, it’s not like it’s their money.

“President Trump” fully supports the gay agenda, which is a huge part of what’s gone on in the military lately. It’s very well documented.

Sad.

We need to build up our military again.

$11K for a flute? My oboe cost $2400. Perhaps they should look at their procurement policies.

Military bands will be replaced by Rap noise and loud Mexican bands.

Also, the American flag will no longer be flown or displayed at these events. The Black lives matter and Mexican flags will replace them.

30 Republicans joined all the Democrats (with Speaker Ryan’s blessing) to pass a bill that allows illegal aliens to join the military for the first time in our nation’s history.
Legal resident aliens have served with distinction as you pointed out.
Illegal aliens never have, until now, thanks to the usurper and his Republican allies.

No, they would exist anyway. So the band that plays at boot camp graduation won’t be able to play for the family dinner the night before. That’s just stupid.

Like the guy that wrote the “honky letter” to the gays a couple days ago, if they would keep whatever they do in private I got little problem with it. Consenting adults etc. but if they are gonna join us now they realize libtards don’t give a damn about them they need to back up on the nonsense. Get out of the St Patrick day parade and leave Christian bakers alone. If they can do that I would welcome them but in reality we have more in common with Muslims and Zero is bringing a million more this year so they don’t have a lot of time to turn things around. Think about it, gays, but don’t take too long. Time sensitive offer and all that.

President Trump will find a network to host America’s Armed Forces Have Talent, a competition pitting Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force, and Coast Guard participants to determine the best performers among the military. The broadcast rights will fund military bands for several years.

Next problem?

I would argue that today, the band not playing for the parents dinner is likely a special band and not the one playing for the graduation.

The existence of two or perhaps even five bands represent bureaucratic band creep.

I don't see how ... if there is more than "one" band per operational unit, it's because they are all really subsets of the larger band. I was a member of the 276th Army Band for several years and was also in the Stage Band, Jazz Band, and Classical Ensemble ... every member of each of those "bands" were already members of the 276th. We were getting paid for being members of the 276th and not one red cent more for performing additionally in these other subsets of the band. We played in those ensembles because we enjoyed the music and there were times when those sorts of performances were appropriate.
