GOP's Trump says US should consider profiling Muslims

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump suggested Sunday that the United States should "seriously" consider profiling Muslims inside the country as a terrorism-fighting tool, the latest example of the Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting increasingly backing positions that could single out a group based on their religion.

"We really have to look at profiling," Trump said in an interview broadcast Sunday on CBS's "Face the Nation." ''It's not the worst thing to do."

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee added that he "hate(s) the concept of profiling, but we have to use common sense."

The statements are consistent with Trump's other, long-expressed views on how to stop terrorism in the United States, including a temporary ban on foreign Muslims from entering the country until the U.S. can figure out "what is going on."

Trump has doubled down on this approach since Omar Mateen carried out the worst mass shooting in modern American history on June 12 at a gay club in Orlando, Florida. Forty-nine people were killed in the attack, which stoked a mix of fears about terrorism, guns and violence against gays.

It’s already approved to profile based on race and religion.

White people are being profiled based on haivng “White Privilege”.

Christians are already profiled as being “homophobic”.

Bill Clinton had been doing some profiling of Arabs/Muslims particularly at airports.

George Bush the younger, citing his good friend Senator Spencer Abraham (R-Arabs, No Borders), announced that he would put a stop to this practice if won the Presidency. Which is what he did.

Nine months later we had 9-11. At least one airline agent said that he would have loved to have had Atta pulled aside for further screening but he was no longer allowed to do it.

Governor Greg Abbot of Texas should be Trump’s VP pick.

He knows all about the profiling and Constitution and immigration from a legal standpoint as Attorney General of Texas. He understands the Mexican heart and soul because of his marriage to a woman of Mexican heritage. But unlike Jeb, he sees that the American caucasian and the wife with Latina roots as truly integrated Americans, are true examples of the original meaning of La Raza as put forth by Mexican philosopher Jose Vasconcelos.

Vasconcelos held that a vigorous new race would be formed by the marriage and integration of indigenous of Mexico and Europeans.

He has known challenges beyond most and has overcome the obstacles such challenges raise.

Abbot is an American treasure. He is also a thinking man of courage.

I travel a lot of miles every year and pass through a lot of airports. I’m old, white, always clean and neat, almost always am carrying the same gear with me and always travel with my Passport. I am patted down....no GROPED at almost every airport in the States and not one time in 20 years of flying the exactly same routes overseas have I been patted down! Profiling...tell me about it!

We need to stop calling it a “religion”. As long as it’s a “religion” they’re protected under the constitution. And they know it.

He should use the words of the koran, with it not being just a (fanatical) religion, but also a system of government with its own laws. They want sharia law to be the law of the world.

The radicals are the peaceful ones.

“Seriously, we don’t do that now? WTF?”

Not only do we not do it, it has been forbidden by policy, written policy that agents violate at their peril.

Only select “assets” inside the “Muslim community” are allowed to finger muslims that might be a problem. It is outrageous. Several have come forward to reveal how this has been implemented.

For example, a data base that showed connections between varous radical mosques was required to be destroyed, because it was deemed “profiling”.
