Hey I like the environment and everything but there are quality of life issues to consider. Keep your hands off my hickory smoked BBQ.

Liberals won’t be happy until everyone is either dead or living in caves eating rocks and twigs.

Of course, they says these stupid things while at a Starbuck$.

It’s going to slowly get to the point where my brush burning during the winter becomes illegal. It already is in CA. After that campfires will become illegal. Then having fires in an indoor fireplace will become illegal. All this has already happened in CA.

If they try it in MA the body count will be very high.

Uh oh. This is NOT going to go over well with the authentic BBQ with the right kind of wood crowd. On the other hand they will probably have the same response as many others; who gives a damn!

I guess our ancestors who cooked everything with wood destroyed our environment pre-1900 or so. I bet they would feel really guilty about that now if they were still around. NOT.

I guess all those who burn their leaves or remnants of an old crop are also adding to the pollution. China is opening a new coal-fired electric plant every week somewhere; no word on that as our government if forcing the closings of ours.

Bizarro world where up is down. Right is wrong. Thought control is now very real; just ask any college grad. On second thought; don’t. They have already been brainwashed to believe in the liberal/progressive narrative. It’s so deeply ingrained now that they may not ever grow out of it even when the facts stare them right in the face.

Just like cults have those who kidnap their members to un-brainwash them; there may come a time when we need to do something like that to the general population as crazy as it sounds.

All the while they champion the method of prescribed burns across the country.

Here is a fact. Wood (trees) stores carbon after it takes it out of the air. Then, it releases that carbon after either dying and rotting, or by burning. If the forest is left to stagnate and grow old, the old growth does NOTHING to scrub the air since older forests are at the end of the life cycle. Younger healthy forests take tons of carbon out of the air per acre each year and add oxygen as a replacement.

Burning wood is a zero end game pollutent since the wood releases either way-by dying and rotting or by burning.

Forest fire on the other hand, is one of the most polution emitting acts in the world. The level of lead and mercury released by these fires, or prescribed burns, is one the the largest health hazards to humans on the planet. One of the others is volcanism and even mega city dwelling.

You know what’s bad for the environment?

Big government.

Whole forests have been cut down through the years, huge amounts of energy and fuels consumed, and vast quantities of productive energies wasted on non-productive and counter-productive efforts ... there is no greater waste of limited resources than bureaucracy this side of porn and narcotics.

I think every big government proponent, and especially every proponent of Arbitrary government, whoever thinks governance must be both centralized and potent to all ends whatsoever, should not only not be permitted to claim they’re “green” they should be flogged if they do so.

The fact that humans exhale Co2 can be seen as ‘bad for the environment’ by somebody somewhere. Erasing evidence of our existence is an exercise in futility. Besides, I’ll bet forest fires, or active above ground volcanos do a lot more longterm damage to the environment that any amount of Wood Fired Stoves or combustible engine.

You know what is also bad for the environment?

Huge out of control forest fires caused by the idiocy of the environmental police who stop ALL logging and allow huge tinderboxes to build up until it gets sparked and then all it all goes up at once.

You know instead of controlled burns and the “farming” of the forest via selective logging and proper forest management...

If the lefty environment retards would STOP and allow forest to be managed or farmed properly, we could have all the wood fired pizza we wants and the forests in general would be far healthier.

I blame the idiot myth of the “old growth forest” to cause this dreadful unintended consequences. If you took a 100 mile by 100 forest and cut tiny strips out of it each year not exceeding a total of 1 mile each year, and performed controlled burns to encourage new forest growth in these strips, the critters and trees would be just fine.

But never cutting it would lead to a giant conflagration that would burn the whole damned thing down the first time lighting struck a dead tree...

We here in the "Land of the (eroding) Free" have been under notice (2015) that the benevolent EPA is striving to help us reduce the pollution effect of our outdoor grills. While the following specifies pollution from dripping grease, I'm sure that they will be happy to add wood-burning pollution to this study. Just envision a honking big catalytic converter rising from your Weber Kettle! Tailgating will never be the same!

Get ready to slap some catalytic converters on BBQs
"The Environmental Protection Agency has its eyes on pollution from backyard barbecues. The agency announced that it is funding a University of California project to limit emissions resulting in grease drippings with a special tray to catch them and a "catalytic" filtration system. The $15,000 project has the "potential for global application," said the school."

....a filter and fan are proposed for installation. "The secondary air filtration system is composed of a single pipe duct system which contains a specialized metal filter, a metal fan blade, a drive shaft, and an accompanying power system with either a motorized or manual method. This system can be powered by either an exterior electric motor with a chain-driven drive shaft, directly spinning the fan blade, or a hand-powered crank," said the project write-up.
