The BBC's James Landale, speaking from a Stronger In event in Newcastle, says the mood there was "pretty optimistic" but when the Newcastle result came in - which gave Remain a very narrow win - there was "a distinct sucking in of the teeth".

But the mood here is "still hopeful", he adds.
