If Trump is in England tomorrow that is NO coincidence (recalling what FDR said about coincidences in politics).
It will be interesting to watch. Maybe all he has to do is fly in and then see who shows up to request to meet with him. If nobody fine and dandy, just take a walk to Hyde Park and the Speaker’s Corner (or wherever). If someone, then it will show (1) how serious Trump should be taken in the USA and (2) who Trump’s potential political allies are in the UK to his prospective administration.
In light of what’s happened, I see it as a golden opportunity for Trump. He is certainly an iconic leading nationalist figure, that shares many of the “LEAVE’s” aspirations and frustrations, and as the likely future leader of the free world, is at least as invested in solving the shared problems England and the USA have, like- a flagging economy, out of control immigration, personal and national safety, sovereignty, ornery global influences, out of touch government leaders, etc. I will be disappointed if he doesn’t make a stop.
I like the idea of Trump in Hyde Park speaking contemporaneously. He’d draw a huge crowd and get himself heard without being filtered by the British MSM.
