Brexit and a lot of primary results here showed us that the voters are more aware than given credit for. So, let's assume that Paul Ryan ekes out a victory (Cantor didn't, so who knows?) Still, some good things happen from the fight.

The primary battle might make it easier for the dem to defeat him in November. If the Republican voters of Ryan's district don't care enough about the future of the US to eject Ryan, it would be better for dems to win that district in November.

Even if that doesn't happen, this is going to make it much more difficult for 'pubs to cave and vote for Ryan to stay on as Speaker. The "Constitutional Conservatives" in the HOR are real good at voting with their voters, when and only when an issue is out in the open.

So, why would you be unhappy about this political assault on Ryan? You don't support the creep, do you?

As much as we hate the positions of Ryan, he is representing the GOPe. He's taking the pressure off all the corrupt GOPe who desperately don't want Trump to reveal what they are really about.

So we are in a transition. Actually we should be hopeful that most of what's happening right now is talk and bluster. Mitt Romney and Bill Kristol are mostly neutralized. Bush and family are totally out of the picture now and hiding.

Hoping we have a united convention. Trump has not attacked Ryan recently, so I think he realizes Ryan may yet act as a bridge to the GOPe, even though Ryan seems to be the enemy today.

I trust the savvy of Trump and Manafort to calm the GOPe waters and make the incumbent Congressmen face the new reality. The stunning rebuke of the EU yesterday is a great beginning.

Several in this thread with similar talking points. The line is “Nehlen can’t win, so give up.” Is that the best our treacherous gigolo speaker can do? Yeah. We saw the gigolo get knocked down by the dimwit Biden.
