Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said Tuesday he agrees that delegates to the Republican national convention should be free to vote their conscience, even if that means not supporting presumptive nominee Donald Trump.
Walker is a former presidential candidate and a delegate to the convention next month. He told reporters following a groundbreaking at a sausage factory that he will follow Wisconsin Republican Party rules and cast his ballot for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in the first round because Cruz won the state primary.

Trump/Team Trump need to take over the reigns of the party (like Romney did in 2012) and install their own people in prominent positions.

Walkers job has always been to lower wages of average Joe & Jane citizen, just like his buddies Mittens and Ryan. He couldn’t care less if Hillary won, as long as his Cheap Labor Donors are happy, and his own bank account is full.
As well as he should. However, I suspect the real reason for this statement is to force Trump to the negotiating table. After all, politics is all about compromises.

The GOP needs to understand that it is in a fight for its continued existence. There’s no such thing as 2020 for them if Donald Trump loses. Guaranteed. This is it.

The state delegates are pledged to vote for whoever won their state primary in the first round.

It puts him without my support for anything he may want to do in the future. I can not believe the vile despicable, underhanded actions proposed by these party politicians. Especially, when it was just a few short months ago that they were railing over concern that Trump would not follow party rules. Now, we see that rules are only for the other guy because they can be ignored by the political hypocrites. Their blatant arrogance is something to behold.
If delegates are able to vote for whomever they wish, that would negate the whole purpose of presidential primaries.
Numerous ones from the GOP have been signaling they approve of heading in that direction — letting the Party determine the candidates and the nominee, and bypass state party primaries altogether.
That would give the little dictator-wannabes power to choose without being bothered by the commoners.
As a young pol, this is so shortsighted of Walker, but good to see so we know in the future that he is not to be trusted. I’d had high hopes for him, as I had for Cruz and Rubio, but now I wouldn’t consider voting for any of them. Not even for dogcatcher.

Each delegate represents the voting results of s mass number of voters, not themselves or GOPe power brokers.
