That might be how it works. Each contender gets to choose follow ups, and if Kasich and Cruz or anyone else is unfriendly to his cause, Trump won’t pick them to such a role.

But far be it for an august agency like NYT to be clear about this. That would raise far less of a brouhaha than leaving it open. There is the muck, we have the rakes.

I just read the NYT piece in its entirety. It reads as though Trump and the RNC are in harmony about presenting a united front. Trump has a point, those who refuse to honor their own personal "support the nominee" pledge should not be allowed on stage. They can;t be counted on to deliver a unifying message. I'm sure what he says is literally accurate, he would not invite them, not at the moment, and not in advance as part of planning the show.

I'm also sure that the ultimate decision is made by some sort of undefined committee, a group of people. Trump's vote is clear. The others can countermand.

I remember that Buchanan speech. Lots hates it, i loved it. Hey, maybe Trump will get Pat up there—bet he can still deliver a barn-burner.

The only way Trump would name Cruz as a VP is if he wanted to wear a bulletproof vest on his back.

Pray America wakes

Ongoing process. Arlen Specter, Charlie Crist.

As for George Will, I personally see him as irrelevant. I don't think he is persuasive outside of his circle of friends, and I have my doubts that they take him seriously. See too, NRO, Rich Lowrey and his band of misfits.

Well as so many of those fools are lawyers, I guess they should have been cornered and had to pledge to support the presumptive nominee...

See, I think Cruz is purposefully being evasive ~like saying “Trump will not be the nominee” every time Cruz was asked if he would support Trump instead of saying, Yes, I will support Trump if he is the nominee—and he gave no hint during his very odd concession speech that he would support Trump either.

From what I see, he clearly does not want to support Trump, whether he is the nominee or presumptive nominee.

Stories also said Trump could not beat 17 other candidates.

He beat your candidate like a drum.

No vice-presidency either?

I get it, he's your guy. And thank you for coming around on Trump.

But Cruz brings exactly nothing to the ticket.

Trump will win Texas with or without Cruz.

What? Are you thinking Cruz is needed to carry the western states or something?

The story says he can’t really do this.

Once he's secured the nomination, oh yes he can. As official nominee, he is de facto the head of the Republican Party.

Romney locked the entire Tea Party coalition out of the 2012 convention after he got the same. Payback's a female dog.

‘What does Cruz want to speak about at our convention? Tupperware?”

How Trump could turn things around, make American great again?
No. Ted would talk about his favorite subject: Ted. Oh, while backstabbing Trump a couple dozen times.

We know what crowd Ted Cruz runs with: the crowd that is fundraising for Hillary and urging Trump’s loss. Cruz buckles with Republicans who want to lose.
Trump should do all he can to bar Cruz from the convention unless he gets a clear, enthusiastic and unwavering endorsement. And in a New York minute.

Those of us who dread the thought of Clintons in the White House again are fed up with this defeatist BS from the Grand Old Party.

Hey, they took a Pledge, if their word doesn’t mean a darn thing, they why listen to thousands of their words. Why waste the country’s time.

I hope Trump delegates make a motion that the delegates don’t want to hear from those who broke their Pledged Oath.

“I Am Entitled Christian, Hear Me Roar In My Pride.”

Yeah, the tent revival preacher routine was also very off-putting. I had to wonder sometimes if he even heard himself. I mean, that act was downright cringe-worthy.

Lets hear from Laura Ingraham, Andrea Tantaros, Stacey Dash, Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin , Michelle Malkin, Michelle Backman instead. It can be womans night at the convention, maybe make American women aware of what Trump has done and wants to do for women.

Primary/caucus voters only voted for delegates to the convention. Those delegates have to cast their votes and THEN he will be THE nominee.
