George Will on Why He Really Supports Hillary Clinton: ‘I’m a Conservative’
Breitbart ^ | 06/26/16 | Pam Key

On this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” Washington Post columnist George Will explained why he left the Republican Party over presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Will said, “I left it for the same reason I joined it in 1964 when I voted for Barry Goldwater, because I was a conservative. I leave for the same reason, I’m a conservative. To give you a time line, shortly after Trump became the presumptive nominee he had a summit meeting with Paul Ryan where they stressed their vast shared ground, which is more important than their differences. I thought that was puzzling because Paul Ryan still didn’t endorse him. After Trump went after the Mexican judge, then Paul Ryan endorsed him. I decided that, in fact, this is not my party anymore. I changed my registration to unaffiliated 23 days ago. I hardly made an announcement. I mentioned this in a meeting with the Federalist Society. The long and the short of it is, as Ronald Reagan said when he changed his registration, I did not leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me.”

Responding to Trump’s tweet about his party departure Will added, “He has an advantage on me. He can say everything he knows about any subject in 140 characters and I can’t.”

George Will, one of the most overrated political pundits (who lost his way long ago), has left the Republican Party. He's made many bad calls

I saw George Will on TV many times during the Reagan years and the George HW Bush years. He was on the great David Brinkley show and was solid. Very solid and pro-Israel.

Very suitable image, George Will has jumped the shark. At least Charles Krauthammer has the good sense to keep his mouth (relatively) shut

Conservative? In many ways he espoused conservative positions, but when push comes to shove we find that George Will loves his position and patrons more than he loves his country.

He is definitely playing to his patrons and peers in the elites. Will is a diplomat with each word measured as to how it makes him look to the people who matter. He could care less about the average American.

If Travolta is a homo, then he better tell me personally, “Take my wife, please!”

His wife Kelly Preston is so gorgeous!

Get with the program George, that's why you only have 55,000 followers compared to Trump's 9.34 million.

For a man with such a supposedly high IQ, Will can be a real dumbass. As my uncle used to say, “Educated beyond his intelligence...”

I agree. Even Carter was better than Obama. While I did not like Romney, he turned out worse than I ever expected. Trump supported him, and yet he turned against him with fake accusations. On a past show Greta marveled how unethical he is. Mitt Romney sure deserves the Judas Award, if there is one.

Although I never trusted Romney, he turned out worst than I imagined. It is one thing to disagree on specific issues with Trump and something entirely different to make false accusations and innuendoes, as Romney has been doing. And all this after Trump generously supported him. Romney truly is a Judas.
