Not a doc, but I had a dry, lingering couch this year. After about a month, I went to the doctor who told me that there was something going around, He called it atypical something or other.
I had some leftover Oxycodone cough medicine that didn’t help. He gave me some antibiotics and that killed it within two days.
Clinton’s issue is certainly much more serious. As a former First Lady, I’m sure her medical coverage is on the Bentley Plan, with the Deusenberg optional upgrades, which means whatever she’s got is chronic, serious and being covered up.

Can any medical types posit a theory? I'm not a doctor, but sometimes extended talking will trigger coughing for me. Hillary's style of practically shouting (which makes her shrill, and isn't endearing to men at all) makes it worse.
In my case, it's gastric reflux. If I don't keep it completely under control, it irritates the back of my throat.
