I watched the entire game.
Most of the players on the Icelandic team are part-time soccer players, with full-time jobs. Some play out in the Danish or Dutch leagues, but are Icelandic citizens.
I’d say from the game....they were absolutely playing at top level, and I think they could take on the Germans as well. Defensively, they are probably one of the better teams in the series.
You have to be a citizen to play for your national team.
Those were the clones working those jobs; these guys were hatched in a dormant volcano and have been playing soccer 24/7 for years. Only now has Iceland unleashed them on the soccer world...
