Even back when there were eight or so Republican contenders polls consistently showed Hellery beating Trump. Those of us who pointed that out were ridiculed. Only Cruz had a chance.
Cruz would have less chance in the general than Trump.
Ignoring his ineligibility for the purpose of this discussion, Cruz is too easily paintable by the left as a far right religious freak and Bible thumper. No chance to pull indies...It would be a media massacre 24/7.
Tru dat. Trump has succeeded in alienating about 25% of what is already the smaller of the 2 minority parties.
Yet Cruz would have gotten beat by Hillary because of his lack of leadership skills and experience.
....And add to that, questions about Cruz’s citizenship did not help him.
