San Francisco (AFP) - Home sharing site Airbnb is suing San Francisco over a new law requiring that anyone who offers their home through the rental site first register the dwelling with the city.

Under the new rule, Airbnb would be fined $1,000 a day for each listing on its site that has not been registered in advance.

How can SF fine a company unless that company is headquartered in SF? I’m assuming Airbnb is not...

John McCain did something similar in Sedona to protect his hotel holdings.

Crony capitalism is one of the biggest problems with big government, right up there with other welfare parasites.

Don't blame the political leaders in San Francisco for this. Airbnb lobbied heavily to get this law passed.

They’re suing over the law you said they asked for?

I’ve heard weirder, but just want to be sure what you said.

I'm sorry -- I was mistaken. They didn't just "lobby" for the law.

THEY HELPED DRAFT IT.

Good thing I’m not a Blonde.

Couldn’t afford the 10 cent charge for each breathe-in, breathe-out.

But maybe I’d lose count and have to start over...

They probably figured that the law would keep out competitors, but then realized that they’d be on the hook for a lot of money when only 20% of their own customers meet the requirements set forth in the law.

Sorry, I didn't realize Airbnb is a Frisco based company. So this is just a libtard vs. libtard in-house crony squabble.

Thanks for the clarification.

“Those in government want to control and regulate everything you do.”

Trump should drive this point home depending on the audience. In fact, the following statements should resonate with those 35 and under :

1> Uber is being fought in many areas that sympathize with Crooked Hillary. They choose to be regressive and take payments from “Big Taxis” so that they alone own this part of the transportation business.

2> Airbnb is being fought in many areas that sympathize with Crooked Hillary. They choose to be regressive and sympathize with the large hotel owners (and he should know) so that the little guys have no way to supplement their income using modern technology and a spare room.

3> Under a Crooked Hillary administration, e-cigarette juice sellers *will* go out of business due to expensive new guidelines ushered in by the Obama administration ... only “Big Tobacco” will have the funds to jump through all of the FDA hoops and hurdles. Yes, the regressives sympathize with Crooked Hillary and want you to remain hooked on the deadliest form of nicotine addiction out there ... tobacco ... mainly in the form cigarettes ... so that they can haul in tax money. They couldn’t care less about your health.

Yes, I know these three issues seem rather silly to be considered ‘major’, but you have to sell your message to the country as a whole and not adopt the Karl Rove methodology where you basically play a prevent style of campaign and only “win what you’re supposed to win”. Putting a dent into the under 35 vote and/or getting *some* new voters out to vote for Trump will go a long way.

People love these services. The Democrats and RINOs *hate* them since they breed independence and stomp on some of their cronies’ toes.
