During an end-of-the-year class party at a New Jersey elementary school, a 9-year-old boy said something about brownies and was subsequently questioned by a police officer who was called by the school to investigate an incident of racism.
It was another student that accused the boy of saying something "racist," but the boy's mother said he was talking about "snacks, not skin color," according to Philly.com.
"He said they were talking about brownies. Who exactly did he offend?" the mother, Stacy dos Santos, asked incredulously.
When the boy's father was contacted later in the day, he was informed that the matter was referred to the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency. It is also reported that the boy stayed at home for his last day of third grade.
But lest it appear that this was an overreaction from the school, as the mother described it, this is actual protocol, decided upon at an earlier meeting between the police department, representatives from the county prosecutor's office and school officials at William P. Tatem Elementary School in Collingswood.
It was decided that any incident that could be deemed criminal should be reported to authorities, even something "as minor as a simple name-calling incident that the school would typically handle internally," Police Chief Kevin Carey said.

GOOD THING THEY DIDN’T SERVE WATERMELON AND FRIED CHICKEN.................
lol
first of all calling a brownie a brownie isn’t racist.
But that’s beside the point. The kid could have been screaming the N word a 100 times and no one should have called the cops because it isn’t against the law.
It might be against school rules, but it’s not a law enforcement matter anymore than breaking the dress code.
Worst part of this idiocy is that that the family is now “in the system.”
The public, especially the young ones, are becoming so overly sensitive it’s just pathetic.
Last weekend I talked to a college student. This was at a family reunion, people he should trust. I started a discussion about a particular race of people.
He participated, but he lowered his voice, and every time he said something he looked around to see who was listening.
He’s a millennial. He openly spoke of liberal views, but when I got him aside he understood mine, and by total surprise he admitted he thinks his school is trying to manipulate his opinion.
I walked away refreshed, knowing they aren’t all stupid, probably a lot of them are like that, but due to peer and public pressure just play the game.
“I want a lawyer”
Kids should start learning that statement in second grade, I guess.
It sure is tempting to tell the story of how a cub scout got into trouble over a brownie.
Whoever at the school called the police should be hit with charges of calling in a false report, or calling in a false alarm.
I think that we need to stop calling a ‘brownie’ a ‘bownie’. I propoae the term ‘cookie of color’. Perhaps chocolate-American. I don’t know.
>> It was decided that any incident that could be deemed criminal should be reported to authorities, <<
Well, that’s potentially reasonable, depending on the problems the school may have been facing.
So who decided that referring to dense, chewy chocolate-cakey treats as “brownies” was criminal?
I would believe the actual reason behind this whole affair is typical Liberalism. Liberal’s DO NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY at all. They might under specific circumstances state they do, but in actuality they always have somebody else lined up for blame.
In this case the Liberal school officials had a meeting with the police, and the prosecutor in a CYA meeting so they could dump all responsibility onto them. The Police, and the Prosecutor accepted the responsibility the school officials dodged.
Anything that could be deemed criminal should be investigated. That line got me too. The kid could have dropped the N bomb all day long and it wouldn’t be criminal.
But lest it appear that this was an overreaction from the school, as the mother described it, this is actual protocol, decided upon at an earlier meeting between the police department, representatives from the county prosecutor's office and school officials at William P. Cookie of color. I like it.

The day before they had crackers.
1. Name calling cannot be deemed criminal. There's no crime against name calling. The protocol, if it is as described, is self-contradictory.
2. "Brownie" IS the name of the snack. No other name is used for such a snack.
3. IF there are any lawyers left who are not sold out to Democrat social coercion, this would be a big lawsuit.
4. IF.
It most certainly was racisss. Blondie overlording the confection of color, keepin' him down on the bottom!
/s ;>)
Obama and Liberal’s sick world that is going to hell.
can you imagine if “White Cake” was also served?
