McCain’s arms were both broken from having them bound behind his back with figure eights of rope wrapped around the arms to the neck... and then he was suspended by those bound arms from the wrists to a hook in the ceiling ... and then the procedure was to leave pows hanging there until they could no longer scream or until they gave out, or until the arms became so dangerously black from lack of circulation that the pressure had to be left off... at which point the pain begins anew. This occurred over YEARS.

So hearing a bunch of internet jockeys who don’t know crap and who have been exceedingly lucky never to have undergone anything remotely like it for even one second of the idyllic lives and who would most likely be sniveling in front of the Iranians ... is disgusting and really beneath this site, no matter how we feel about McCain’s political behavior.

Not only did he do better, but most of the men captured then did as well ... and the enemy had them for a much longer period of time.

If what was reported is true these people were woefully undertrained and grossly lacking in common sense. The first part is their commanders’ fault but the latter is entirely their owm.
Seeriously- if you were assigned to that region as they were- would you not study those maps until you knew every inch of them just upon being assigned there?
Not to mention study them again before setting out every time?
I don’t care how bad the commander is, or how demoralizing the president is, seamen don’t have to sit there and be ignorant of the situation just because no one spoon fed them anything.
