Hillary Clinton interviewed by FBI on email server
CBS News ^ | July 2nd, 2016 | By Reena Flores

Presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton met with FBI officials Saturday about her private email server that has sparked a federal investigation, her campaign said.

"Secretary Clinton gave a voluntary interview this morning about her email arrangements while she was Secretary," Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill said in an email Saturday afternoon. "She is pleased to have had the opportunity to assist the Department of Justice in bringing this review to a conclusion. Out of respect for the investigative process, she will not comment further on her interview."

Sources confirm to CBS News that the investigation is in its final phase and interviewing Clinton was one of the last steps before concluding the investigation and submitting recommendations on whether charges should be filed.

The meeting, which lasted approximately three-and-a-half hours, took place at FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., according to a campaign aide.

You are obviously well versed in the methods of investigations. Problem is the DOJ Prosecutors make the call on whether to act on FBI’s recommendation. On another note, the timing of this coming prior to the Convention is high drama in itself.

And, Comey himself, may have aspirations for high office.

What better way to get there than getting Hillary into court.

And, for that matter, what better way for Lynch to get to the USSC?

Both would be unimpeachable persons who put the Law and the Nation above politics. And would be forever known as such.

This late in the Obama admin, neither has anything to lose by prosecuting (assuming they have a case). It would certainly assure that Hillary never again sees the inside of the White House even is she's found not guilty. Which is extremely unlikely if she is charged.

Or, it could force an Obama pardon...which has the downside of all the info becoming public too.

The way I see it they have no choice but to attempt a conviction.

FBI: “So, how is the campaign going?”

Cankles: “Donald Trump hates women.”

FBI: “Ok, I think we’re done here.”

"FBI: “So, how is the campaign going?”"

Do you really believe the FBI National Security division is universally corrupt? Senior career agents?

That there's not even 2 or 3 involved in the investigation that would love to put her in prison?

Over 100 agents are involved. They have a copy of every bit that ever hit that server. They have access to NSA info about probable hacks by foreign governments. Maybe even certain evidence.

I don’t think this works as well as in the past. We all have breaking news that go right to our cellphones and that’s usually in our pocket.

You are correct but missed a small point. The FBI isn’t really going to ask her any questions. They will give her an opportunity to explain anything she wants and say whatever she wants to try to clear herself. They will not ask any relevant questions because they don’t have to. They know she has lawyered up. They would have to read her Miranda Rights if they asked about any specific items. That is not going to happen with a few dozen lawyers present.

The whole purpose of this exercise is so the FBI can say they gave her an opportunity to clear her name of the pending allegations. They do not have to speak with her. They do not have to do anything but present their findings to DOJ. The entire email?FBI investigation is about “playing out the clock”. Dean Smith at UNC would call it the Four Corners.

I read the CBS and NYT pieces on this, and somebody correct me if I am wrong, but neither price explained whether the interview was conducted under oath. How would it be possible for there to be something (once) called journalism left in this world if that fact was left out?

Almost certainly not under oath, and certainly with several Hillary lawyers to prevent her answering.

I do. Corrupt or cowed. It runs through the whole government.

Remember the incredible number of warning signs ignored before 9/11 because superiors didn’t want to hear it and no one wanted to rock the boat?

...And, Comey himself, may have aspirations for high office.....

It wouldn’t even have to be for higher political office, its just that this is the biggest case before the FBI in decades if not longer, his reputation will be made or broken on this case.
If you are a career employee, in his position, you do not want even the slightest case of political influence directing your moves, just look at the storm Lynch has created but the Clinton meeting. Comey wants this to be his defining episode.

...Of course they will. They had prima facie evidence of a Felony when the very first classified information was found on her server.....

Remember it was not the FBI which started this investigation, rather it was the State Department investigation which revealed classifies info on Hillary’s server. They realized a crime had been committed, and turned it over to the FBI.

Exactly, they already have all the info they need to recommend prosecution. They will let her try to clear herself, but those will be only leading questions, designed to see if she is coming clean or still trying to cover up a crime the FBI already knows has been committed.

Lynch kept her husband there as a witness She may have even tapes the conversation. WJC would lie about what happened She knew he would.

She proved a “safe environment “ for him to spill his guts. She, for her own safety will take the stand she has- golf and grandkids. BUT you can bet your sweet bippy she has something beside her husband to back up what was really said
