Like Cincinnatus and George Washington, he has no ambition for personal power. He saw his duty and having fought and won the battle, now desires only to retire to the quiet life of a private citizen.

Yes! Farage is the best British leader since Churchill & Thatcher.

I'm thinking Nigel is maneuvering to get an invitation to join the Conservative Party and then play some major role in negotiating the exit from the EU.Exactly - Farage is probably gambling on the possibility of having more influence as a Tory/Conservative than as a leader of UKIP, which for better or for worse is regarded as a fringe party by many in the UK.

Men who lead revolutions are rarely the best ones to run things after.
Case in point, Lech Walesa, as great as he was in Solidarity, he was ill-suited to lead Poland after Communism fell.

In a Parliamentary system, leaders frequently step aside to allow an alternative. If the alternatives fail to win leadership, or if the alternatives prove unpopular, the original leader makes a comeback. Farage has resigned and made a comeback several times.
Or at may be as simple as Farage seeking power in the Conservative Party.

Nigel Farage is the voice of truth, common sense and reasoning in an insane world. I hope he gets the PM slot. He is to the UK what Trump is to the U.S... TRUTH AND COMMON SENSE!!!
I enjoyed watching Farage BASH his associates here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlN9o3g-yuA

The
Conservative leadership race is a farce.
Every single one is an advocate for "social justice."
Seems like a preview of what to expect from the GOP in a few election cycles.

Wonder what this has to do with Mr Banks’ comments from last week on the future of UKIP.

These guys didn't expect to win (look at Boris Johnson's face on Friday) and now they're running, leaving someone else to manage the chaos
Farage (descendant of a Frenchman BTW) will not be joining the Tories -- he would never win over the MPs to be elected PM.

you don’t directly vote for the PM — you vote for a party and the party chooses its leader who becomes the prime minister.

Farage has been fighting the good fight for many years, and now has victory—————He is a descendent of French Huguenot......(Protestant Calvinist...)...who fled persecution in the 1500’s
Nothing wrong with that!
