Nigel Farage: People Have Overreacted To Trump, He Is 'Part Of The Democratic Process'

UKIP leader Nigel Farage has said that people have overreacted to Donald Trump's comments on Muslims, and it would be absurd to ban him from entering the UK.

Speaking on radio station LBC this morning, Mr Farage said any ban on the Republican frontrunner entering the UK would be ludicrous is now "part of the democratic process of the West” and "could be the next President of America."

Those who have signed a petition calling for the UK to ban Mr Trump, he said, are "the same group of people who it seems want to ban everyone from coming into Britain," comparing them to student activists who want to "no platform" everyone they disagree with.

Mr Trump "hasn't encouraged any people being shot or killed or maimed," Mr Farage added.

Regarding Mr Trump's comments that some areas of London are so radicalised that police are afraid to set foot in them, one retired policeman phoned the show to confirm that many former colleagues have concerns about radical Muslims and are scared to wear their uniforms in certain areas.

He also said that despite the fact many police officers have these worries, they were being kept hidden from the electorate.

Mr Farage responded by speaking of his experience in the Oldham West and Royton by-election last week which "reminded me of Northern Ireland".

In Northern Ireland, streets were divided between Catholic and Protestant communities, with the two rarely intermingling. In Oldham, Mr Farage said, the town was divided between white British residents and Pakistani and Bangladeshi families.

"We have a parallel societies in Britain," he said.

The Trump effect is going global.

I also read some comments on a German article which covered Trump's comments on Merkel and Germany. One comment said that there shouldn't be any big whoop about Trump because he's only speaking the truth.

That last is why Trump is such a danger to the current establishment. The truth about many things has been hidden, obfuscated, avoided for many many years.

He’s speaking total sense. To ban a presidential candidate would be outrageous.

The ‘left’ cannot abide the truth. They live by lying both to themselves and others.

Apparently the irony and hypocrisy of calling for a ban on Trump from entering the UK, for his calling for a ban on new Muslims entering the US, is lost on these morons.

It's okay for them but not for Trump? And he just said what he said for the safety and security of the US and it's citizens. He's not out to kill anybody. But the primary motive of many muslims sure seems like killing the infidels to me. They have a track record to prove it.

What is wrong with these mental giants? /sarcasm alert/

For those who think Trumps idea of walls is a fantasy...take a long look at Northern Ireland. They had to build walls to keep the two groups apart.

That sounds like something Travis McGee might say. He’s quite the student of modern civil war / urban conflict.

Yep, they had to. “Peace walls.” Only now do they have a few little mouse-holes for daytime travel in non-tense (non marching season etc) times.

Even In Scotland, although not like N. Ireland, they still hold grudges and Catholics stick to their areas and protestants to theirs.

In my travels over there, they had a hard time believing how we get along here. I always told them pretty fair as far as that goes, except the inner cities and slums were another matter.

And now the Muzzies show up.

Let’s pour some more nitroglycerin into the cauldron and heat it up.
