The Western Conservative Summit, organized by the Centennial Institute of Colorado Christian University, convened this weekend, with luminaries speaking including prospective GOP nominee Donald Trump, Senators Ben Sasse and Tom Cotton, former presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, TV star Phil Robertson, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, radio hosts Dennis Prager, Hugh Hewitt, and Erick Erickson, and Daily Wire Editor-in Chief Ben Shapiro. The video of Shapiro's previous appearance at the summit two years ago is the most widely-viewed video of any speech ever given at the summit, and this time was no different; of all the speeches given, Shapiro's speech was hailed by Jeff Hunt, the leader and director of the Centennial Institute, as the best speech of the event, as he called him "The speech champion of the summit."

I have plenty of criticisms of Trump, but they are so totally irrelevant so long as Trump is the only person on the scene who can (1) stop Hillary, (2) make some conservative SC nominations, and (3) at least try to restore some sanity to our border, immigration, trade, and economic policies. In 2016 there simply is no other game in town, and people like Shapiro who make a big show about how they “might” possibly, maybe vote for Trump are moral and political idiots. There is no rational alternative at this time.

Moving the Moslems back to their “own” countries (places they’ve already taken over by this exact kind of invasion ). is both sensible and ultimately will prove very humane — the rest of your criticism sounds like it makes good sense, though. Are not people like Shapiro sacrificing the constitutional republic on the altar of conservatism?
My main issue is with Shapiro’s hypocrisy and transparent deception. A sincere person can’t support expelling the entire Palestinian population from Israel and oppose an immigration moratorium in the USA.

Here is what I believe the conservative purists do not understand. First, you have to defeat the Democratic Party and its corrupt candidate. To do this, you need more than conservative and Republican voters. Trump is that candidate who appeals across all political sectors. Second, you need an independent candidate. Trump is the only candidate who maintains independence from the political hierarchy, the donor class and capitalist cronies. Third, you need a brass knuckles, common sense, free thinking leader who will do what is right for the American people. In my view that man is Donald Trump.
Conservative principles and theory are fine and dandy, but you need someone who can win that is independent and has the guts to follow through.
Instead of fighting amongst ourselves, we should all get down on our knees and pray. We need to thank the Almighty, each and every day, for providing us with the right guy for the awful times we find ourselves in today. Then, we need to pray to the Good Lord to give Trump the wisdom and the strength to right this floundering vessel known as America when he becomes the president.
Little Ben is a bought and paid for chattering class drone shilling for corporate conservatism. No thanks. I’m done being a serf on their plantation.

Based on his tweets over the last two months, I’ve suspected Shapiro’s been edging towards voting for Trump... Frankly, I dont care if he says he will have to hold his nose. There are only two choices in November.
If true Conservatives had spoken this way against McCain and Romney (who, IMHO, were far worse candidates), they never would have been nominated. Conservatives were told to hold their collective noses and vote Republican. Meanwhile, they agreed with the half breed on almost every issue. Then they threw the election with unforced errors and debate debacles.
Trump is not perfect; but at least, he doesn’t preach about defending Conservative issues; then proceed to cave in and sell us out.
What a disgusting spectacle the GOP has become. Keep it up and the House and Senate will be lost. Where’s your power then?
This self-absorbed little simpleton Shapiro illustrates whats wrong with the so-called conservative movement. He cannot stop staring at his conservative shoes long enough to lift his eyes and take a a look around at the far bigger picture. He and some others are so obsessed with their narrow definitions of all things that they cannot realize that this election is about globalism vs.the US as a sovereign and independent nation.
They are incapable of realizing that that preserving the US as a sovereign nation is a thousand times more important than their obsession over their definition of conservatism.
Shapiro supported that liar Michelle Fields in her attempts to smear Corey Lewandowski. That alone should tell you he’s compromised.
