No one at the White House knew that FBI Director James Comey was going to speak on Tuesday, never mind what he’d say, White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters on Tuesday.

“With regard to a reaction from the White House, I don’t have an official reaction to share,” he said. “The reason for that is simply that, while the FBI is completing their investigation, the career prosecutors at the Department of Justice still have to make a final determination about how and whether to proceed.

“And we have gone to great lengths to avoid the appearance of interfering with this ongoing process. Director Comey himself noted that there was no outside influence brought to bear on this investigation. That certainly is consistent with the effort that we have made to protect the independence of the investigation.” …

This is pure evil and lawlessness.

There’s a first. He has his nose in everything else.

The headline is correct. They have gone to great lengths to appear as if they had not interfered.

Even though those lengths are utterly transparent either way.

I’m wondering if Earnest was candid (versus honest) just to rub it in the faces of all Americans, feeling that he can do so.

They have no shame ... and they believe the people are so dumb they can make statements like this and are believed.

Even other countries make fun of this President.. he’s an embarrassment!

B.S. Barky is as guilty as Hillary, they both are traitors to our Country...and if people support either one of them or their ilk, they need to leave America...

No one at the White House knew that FBI Director James Comey was going to speak on Tuesday, never mind what he’d say, White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters on Tuesday.

Yet somehow the "President" was at that very moment, flying around with the potentially indicted woman.

If that wasn't telegraphing the outcome, I don't know what was.

Does anybody believe that someone was going to indict the buddy of their boss's boss while he was campaigning for her?

Other than your Attorney General having a secret meeting with the prime suspect’s spouse . . . .

The fact that he was campaigning for her was interference with the investigation. Unambiguous intimidation from the bully pulpit of the POTUS.

Exactly. They always tell you what they’re doing because of the words they choose.

“And we have gone to great lengths to avoid the APPEARANCE of interfering with this ongoing process.”

They still interfered with the process, but they tried really really hard to make sure it didn’t LOOK like they did!

Off topic, but this is not the picture from yesterday’s campaign event. Hillary has helmet hair now. And Obama is much grayer than in this pic.

Yeah, RIGHT!
As I reflected on Comey’s comments on Tuesday, it struck me that he may be more clever than we thought.  His first 15+ minutes are loaded with 30 second sound bites Trump is already making into TV spots. Comey very politely called her everything but a child of God and now it’s ALL OUT THERE from the head of the FBI!

Then by NOT referring it, he has all but the most dedicated Clinton loyalists and brain-dead Democrats (but I again repeat myself) so FURIOUS at the failure to follow through that I believe the election may be an anticlimax — unless Trump steps on his ______________
(insert the name of your favorite body part here) or they STEAL another one.

So, if he DID get “The Word” from obozo to keep Clinton in the race (and my guess is that he did), his presentation was constructed to do as much damage to her while following obama’s order to NOT refer for prosecution, leaving him out of the doghouse. Perhaps some sort of spiteful twofer? We may never know!

It’s a lie on the face of it. You don’t avoid interference by “going to great lengths”. You avoid interference by keeping your nose out and your mouth shut.

Hint: Sending your AJ to a clandestine meeting with the perp’s spouse in a corner of the tarmac of a Rocky Mountain airport is NOT an example of avoiding interference, either.

The fact that he was campaigning for her was interference with the investigation. Unambiguous intimidation from the bully pulpit of the POTUS.

That could be true, but it could also be true that the intimidation had already been communicated prior to the event, and the campaigning with Hillary simply foreshadowed what had already been decided.

Obama certainly appears to have known what the outcome was to be, else I don't think he would have been flying around with her.

On the News yesterday, I saw them both on Air Force One, so I simply grabbed the first picture which illustrated that they were together flying around on Air Force One when Comey was making his "announcement."

I merely assumed it would be the right picture because it was timely. A correct picture would be appreciated.
