..Trump may be nationalistic, but above all he is a pragmatist. I don’t disagree with your concern about Newt or any CFR type btw...
Trump says he will pull out of NAFTA - Gringrich’s achievement.
It’s not only that they’re opposites, it’s that Gingrich will be positioned for installation, and he will be... right after the PTB gin up a left wing radical assassin.
“Conspiracy theory”? Call it that. I do not underestimate the evil of the Globalist crowd for a nanosecond. This is it. It’s do or die.
“If Trump wants to please, delight and totally fire up between a third and half his supporters, and dismay and seriously disappoint the rest, he should pick Newt.”
That is utter nonsense! If you want Hillary, just don’t go along with Trump as he makes up his government. I mean lets all get wrapped around the axle about each and every one of his choices because they don’t all “pass our individual litmus tests.” Now that’s the surefire way to see Hillary elected! I guess you put yourself in the “dismayed/seriously disappointed” group, right? Let’s activate the good old GOP circular firing squad.
“I doubt if GW would have won if not for Cheny. “
Hindsight being 20/20, we would have been better served with Dick Cheney as our President and “W” as VP.
“Scott Walker would have been a great pick.”
Scott Walker would have been as disloyal to Trump as GHWB was to Ronald Reagan. No thanks, Wisconsin has lots left for him to clean up. Leave that sleeping dog lie.
NO NO NO NO NO NO...
You can ignore and deny that Newt is a polarizing figure, but that doesn’t change reality. He has a wildly enthusiastic fan club, and he effects at least an equal number of Trump supporters in just the opposite way. No amount of angry condemnation on your part will change this. Shouting, ‘You should love Newt as much as I do!’ is not an argument.
Btw, in your fury over reality, have you managed to ignore post #27 completely? Pretending it doesn’t exist won’t make it go away.
Newt vs Paul Ryan !!!
YES! Ryan reduced to a pouty child.
Battle of the century.
Newt vs Paul Ryan = Winner Trump!
Well Newt just did a brief video with Trump where he says,” WE are going to create lots of jobs.” Not Donald Trump but WE are going to create lots of jobs.
That slip implies Newt as VP!!!
Actually I never liked GW tat much either, I remember thinking the ticket was reversed, alway like all the Cheneys, especially his wife.
>>somewhat of a headcase at times. Isn’t that what utopianists are anyway?
I suggest that he is the best match for DJT because of his brilliance as a political tactician, and isn’t timid about bomb throwing.
Anyway he would be holding an office which was once described as “worthless as a warm bucket of spit” and would not get in DJT’s way IMHO...
**********************************************************
My thoughts:
1 We don’t need anything approaching a utopian headcase one breath away from the Presidency : )
2 The Dems chewed him up and took him down once before (aka The Gingrich Who Stole Christmas). They salivate at the prospect for a repeat performance.
3 The VP position under DJT will be unlike ANY other former VP’s. DJT will actually make whoever it is work his tail off, as he demands from all who work for him : )
So far DJT has not let us down. God has truly blessed this man with not only genius intelligence, but so many other positive qualities which comprise the makeup of an outstanding, history-making leader....much the same as George Washington, IMHO.
We don’t have long to wait to find out.
May God provide him Godly wisdom in his VP decision, and continue to bless and keep him in His Tender Care!
: )
Long term, you could look at it like Reagan did with GHWB in "keeping them closer". Or look for someone without those connections. The "one heartbeat away" argument is compelling. Anyway, I haven't been "all in" for any candidate since Duncan Hunter...
He’s so old!
“Shouting, You should love Newt as much as I do! is not an argument.”
I didn’t say that! I merely pointed out that Newt has substantial support here at FR. Add to that the private polling on the issue that show that Newt bests all the reat of the presumptive candidates to be Trump’s VP. My second point is that it doesn’t really matter what either of us “want.” Trump gets to make this decision, and unless we’re stupid we will accept his selection. It’s an uphill battle to RIF Hillary, we all need to be on board.
Where did I say Newt doesn’t have substantial support on this site? My impression is that some actually like the pic of Newt and Pelosi on the couch. They must think it makes him look sophisticated.
I definitely, *definitely* get the impression that quite a few Newt supporters loved the way he cut Trump off at the knees over the Mexican-citizen/LaRaza judge. Curiel’s rulings indicate that he’s being faithful to the LaRaza motto: “For the race, everything. For those outside the race, nothing.”
This is why Mexican citizen Curiel has made every single ruling against Trump. But Newt just couldn’t wait to side with the Mexican against the American. That’s where post #27 comes in: Newt is a Globalist.
If you can point me to a quote where I said I’d vote for Queen Hillary if Trump picks Newt, you win the exchange. Otherwise, don’t make assumptions without foundation. I can be dismayed that Trump would select a Globalist, and I can be seriously disappointed that Trump would pick a person who so quickly sides with a LaRaza/Mexican judge over an American citizen, and still vote for Trump. Hillary is the alternative; enough said.
Just to be clear, Curiel is a dual citizen. Yes, he holds American citizenship. His heart is in his Mexican citizenship, however; otherwise he wouldn’t embrace the vile, anti-American racists of LaRaza.
Ooops, wrong thread.
Between Trump and Newt, how many wives have there been? That will be the main focus for the dems to motivate the vajayjay voters.
