Roger Ailes Fires Back at Gretchen Carlson's "Defamatory" Lawsuit as Fox Launches Internal Investigation
Full title

The Fox News chairman issued this statement in response to the lawsuit Wednesday afternoon:

"Gretchen Carlson's allegations are false. This is a retaliatory suit for the network's decision not to renew her contract, which was due to the fact that her disappointingly low ratings were dragging down the afternoon lineup. When Fox News did not commence any negotiations to renew her contract, Ms. Carlson became aware that her career with the network was likely over and conveniently began to pursue a lawsuit. Ironically, FOX News provided her with more on-air opportunities over her 11 year tenure than any other employer in the industry, for which she thanked me in her recent book. This defamatory lawsuit is not only offensive, it is wholly without merit and will be defended vigorously..."

Meanwhile parent company 21st Century Fox announced it's looking into the allegations against the CEO and Carlson's former Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy. (Doocy is not a defendant in the suit.)

"The Company has seen the allegations against Mr. Ailes and Mr. Doocy. We take these matters seriously. While we have full confidence in Mr. Ailes and Mr. Doocy, who have served the company brilliantly for over two decades, we have commenced an internal review of the matter..."

Unfortunately, these days, men are guilty until they can prove innocence.

To me she always had a tortured look on her face like her shoes hurt or her girdle was too tight.

Gretchen has had a chip on her shoulder and has been trolling for something to complain about for a long time:

FROM THE 'WAY BACK MACHINE

"Gretchen Carlson Walks Off ‘Fox And Friends’ After Brian Kilmeade’s Sexist Comment (VIDEO)"

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/14/gretchen-carlson-walks-of_n_1597206.html June 14, 2012

Gretchen Carlson walked off the set of “Fox and Friends” on Thursday after fellow host Brian Kilmeade made a sexist comment.

The two were watching third host Steve Doocy interview a member of a Navy band which had been all-male until 1980.

“Women are everywhere,” Kilmeade said. “We’re letting them play golf and tennis now. It’s out of control.”

With that, Carlson was out of her seat.

“You know what?” she said, walking away. “You know what? You read the headlines, since men are so great. Go ahead.”

“Finally!” Kilmeade said, adding, “leaving an all-male crew.”

“In all your glory, go for it!” Carlson said. As she departed, Kilmeade cracked, “eh, she needed a shower.”

That’s a very tribalism approach to life.... I always look for the best person in business and life..... Not by gender, race or religion...

Steve Doocy never struck me as a particularly aggressive or assertive man that would harass or be overtly sexual to someone like Gretchen Carlson.

Gretchen Carlson Sues Fox News Boss, Alleging Sexual Harassment Before Firing
Breitbart
http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2016/07/06/gretchen-carlson-sues-roger-ailes-alleging-sexual-harassment-firing/

Former Fox News Channel anchor Gretchen Carlson is suing network chief executive Roger Ailes, claiming she was fired after refusing his sexual advances. Fox News representatives did not immediately return requests for comment on the lawsuit, which was filed Wednesday in Superior Court in New Jersey’s Bergen County. Carlson, the former host of a daytime show at Fox, alleged a pattern of discriminatory behavior at Fox. She says she was fired in June. She says that happened nine months after Ailes told her that “you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago.” The 50-year-old Carlson was Miss America in 1989. She spent 11 years at Fox.

If she’s friends with that leftist idiot Colbert, she needed to be fired.
