Donald Trump’s private meeting Thursday with Senate Republicans — designed to foster greater party unity ahead of the national convention in Cleveland — grew combative as the presumptive presidential nominee admonished three senators who have been critical of his candidacy and predicted they would lose their reelection bids, according to two Republican officials with direct knowledge of the exchanges.

Paul said he had a great meeting. The story says senators had a heated meeting. Paul is in the house. Different meetings by two different groups of people. Congress has the senate and house. Paul is not part of both only one part. The house.

As an old timer buddy would say, “He told them how the cow eats the cabbage”.

One of those expressions that makes absolutely no sense, yet you know exactly what it means.

Jeff Flake has proven himself to be, well, a bit Flaky at times, and a namby-pamby moderate as well.

I support and will vote for Trump. I like his challenging the rampant liberal PC BS... and his strong “border enforcement first” position, for example.

At the same time, I believe that many Trump supporters would prefer that he be more precise in stating strong positions. People will be offended by strong conservative-leaning positions no matter what; so who cares about that?

However when Trump’s lack of precision in dialogue needlessly offends those who would otherwise support his core positions, Trump only hurts his chances for election.

IMHO.

I want a heated room! The country has gone to hell in a handbasket thanks to these guys.

Good job, Donald. Rattle some feathers.

“WaPa trying to sow dissension in our ranks. We used to laugh at it, now we fall for it. Look at this thread so far. Mission accomplished.”

That was the purpose of the article. It was to weaken Trump and Republicans.

But how did the WP get the direct quotes about a private meeting? How did they get the opinions of Republican politicians publicly attacking Trump?

There are cowardly little backstabbers in the Republican Washington establishment.

GOP sissified Senators run to their liberal media to whine about Trump, lol.

So typical, and the reason why Trump won the nomination in the first place.

He should have kicked each one in their rumps on the way out the door for good measure, like in a Three Stooges movie.

Isn’t it amazing, Hillary is a criminal liar, hiding from the press, but we are treated each day to drivel about everything Trump says being wrong.

I think any senators not supporting their nominee are idiots, traitors and worse. I pledge to work to defeat every one of them, So Help Me God.

Go Trump.

The problem is that a lot of people still read the WP and get their information from them. We need to know what is going on out there. Sticking our heads in the sand is not a solution.

We need to be aware and counter the propaganda.

As I said, I think what is disturbing is that elected Republicans go and whine to the MSM about our Republican presidential nominee. Whose side are they really on?

“Curious but not unexpected.”

Anyone. Anyone, who doesn't believe or wonder if there are not plants within the the highest levels of the Republican party, or that controlling the internals of American politics has been a long-term goal of the enemies of America, is either delusional or hasn't been paying attention. If I you were the head of a foreign entity charged with ultimately bringing down the US, wouldn't you target our open society?

Tense is a result of the Washington Post considering printing truth for a change.

"Trump’s lack of precision in dialogue needlessly offends those who would otherwise support his core positions>"

"Lack of precision" is certainly one way of putting it. He told Flake he was going to loose the election, and Flake isn't even up for election.
