I am going to reserve judgement. We don’t know what happened before the shooting. There is a certain way to behave when confronted by police. No back talk. Show respect. Don’t run. Don’t fight or resist. No sudden moves. When did it become ok to treat law enforcement like shit? If the police officer is guilty then he should indeed be punished. But we see this time and time again, where there is more to the story. If this pattern continues of lynching the officer before all the facts are in, fewer people will join the force resulting in more people policing themselves. That’s great for those of us who carry. But I have an elderly mother who lives 2 hours away in Milwaukee WI. I want her to have access to police protection if she ever needs it.
