And pray that this isn’t part of the excuse for postponing elections indefinitely. Praying for those officers’ families and for the other officers who are putting their lives on the line every day.

That’s not true. After Orlando he gave a very measured solemn response which was quickly admonished by the imposter in chief and the others in the media.

Every time I doubt him, or try to suggest he do or say something, he says it better than I could have hoped. It’s like he has a sixth sense about what to say.

We’ve sat here watching and listening to him, and each time, there is something new.

I think he speaks for all of us. He is not looking at 51% approval like HIllary..He wants all of us.

ONe thing about Newt... I don’t sense anger in the man, I sense too, someone patient and ready to explain to people about our country. Where it’s been and where it’s going.

Is he still giving it in light of what happened? Last time he cancelled a rally after Orlando.

Might not be a bad idea to cancel. In fact, might be the smart thing to do.

I think Trump will not shirk, but be presidential and speak to the people.

As I was entering or local hospital for tests yesterday One of our Local Blues was bringing lunch to the Officer on duty ( a former student). I teased them a bit about having enough to share and thanked them for their service as I always do.
The hospital officer is always so pleasant and helpful and is so proud of serving
Am sure Dallas has similar officers and my heart breaks for their families

Okay, so let’s do a state-sponsored media translation of that statement:

“... Donald Trump responded to the Dallas police shootings be accusing America of being pathetic, and accusing African-Americans of not knowing right from wrong. He also blamed the problem on the last 7 years of the Obama Administration, opening himself up to even more accusations of racism...”

I agree. I hope he postpones the political aspects of any planned events and makes a thoughtful statement about the tragedies in Dallas. I doubt many people want to hear anything about politics or Hillary right now.

This one isn't a rally but the Florida visit appears to include a separate fundraiser. He had planned to deliver the "ream Hillary" remarks at the Portsmouth, NH rally, but deferred for about a week. Made sense, attacking Hillary at that moment would have been tacky.

I agree that he could postpone this, but it is also an opportunity. The incident merits remarks that amount to more than a tweet or ten, even though nothing has been revealed about the motive of the group that carried out the attack.

I think he should speak as scheduled. He was going to make a policy speech, then adjusted that to "remarks," so whatever he was planning to say wasn't necessarily something that could be taken as inappropriate for the moment. He can weave some of his consistent themes into a more serious narrative about the need to respect authority, to apply the law, to shun violence. Leave it at that. The press won't contrast his position with that of Hillary and the DEMs, but that's okay, the listeners will.

Isn’t this the guy who sent high powered weapons across the border in Fast and Furious and our Republican Congress say nothing about it?

Morning nikos....

Thanks for the thread.

Hitlery is going to address this in her usual pandering fashion today. The article I read said she is going to say some surprising things.

I think Mr. Trump would be smart to let the dust settle today, listen to what Hitlery says (if he can understand her African-American dialect) and then speak tomorrow. Everyone is still reeling and waiting a day may be a good thing.

One and the same guy.

I think the public would be shocked at the number of FBI and ATF "sting" operations gone wrong.

If she speaks, he should not "wait for her" and then appear to respond. That makes her "the leader" as far as remarking. I mentioned above, he should set out his thoughts and tone, she can do the same, and the public will compare.

I HOPE TRUMP HAS A GREAT RESPONSE TO THE SHOOTINGS - all of the shootings. The two men, one in Louisiana and one in Minnesota, and of course, the ambush in Dallas.

This is a perfect opportunity for him to show us how he would handle this horrible mess Obama & Hillary have us in. today.

Newt, as usual, is right on the money on Fox this AM.

Say what you want about him, but he knows what to say, how to say it.

Newt for VP. He is the man right now.

I'm watching TCM, taking my news at my own pace, online. What was the gist of Newt's remarks?
