Dallas Police Identify a Gunman in Dallas Protest Shootings
NBC DFW ^ | 7/8/2016 | Todd L. Davis

Micah Xavier Johnson, of Mesquite, is one of four people police said were responsible for ambushing police officers at a peaceful protest against nation-wide officer-involved shootings in Dallas Thursday.

Police said officers cornered Johnson and negotiated with him for hours before talks broke down. Dallas Police Chief David Brown said Johnson told officers he was upset about recent shootings involving police and "wanted to kill white people. Especially white officers."

After an exchange of gunfire, Brown said officers attached an explosive device to a bomb robot and detonated it near Johnson, killing him.

A black SUV found at the scene of the shootings was listed as registered to Delphene Johnson, also of Mesquite.

Wait...why are cops allowed to use robotic bombs? Since when in this a war zone and since when are they trained for such tactics?

The first professional civilian bomb squad was established by Sir Vivian Dering Majendie.[2] As a Major in the Royal Artillery, Majendie investigated an explosion on 2 October 1874 in the Regent's Canal, when the barge 'Tilbury', carrying six barrels of petroleum and five tons of gunpowder, blew up, killing the crew and destroying Macclesfield Bridge and cages at nearby London Zoo.

In 1875, he framed The Explosives Act, the first modern legislation for explosives control.[3] He also pioneered many bomb disposal techniques, including remote methods for the handling and dismantling of explosives.[2] His advice during the Fenian dynamite campaign of 1881-85[4] was officially recognised as having contributed to the saving of lives. After Victoria Station was bombed on 26 February 1884 he defused a bomb with a clockwork mechanism which might have gone off at any moment.[5

The New York City Police Department established its first bomb squad in 1903. Known as the "Italian Squad", its primary mission was to deal with dynamite bombs used by the Mafia to intimidate immigrant Italian merchants and residents. It would later be known as the "Anarchist Squad" and the "Radical Squad".[6]

Just send in a bomb to blow up suspects?

Known suspects who continue to engage in gun battles with the police, who have stated that they have bombs and planted bombs...(which leads me to your next questions, "Is that really a road we want to head down?<")...HECK YES!

This man was not going down without trying to kill more cops - he made that clear. So, why put more people in harms way? That's my opinion.

It does raise the question...Why didn’t a sniper take him out? He must have been in a location they could’nt get a line on him.

Mark Hughes needs to be commended for acting in a forth right and responsible way by turning his legally carried rifle over to a police officer and the officer needs to be commended too.

I agree. Whether revolutionaries or provocateurs such as those who stirred up the “Arab Spring” and the Ukraine, it doesn’t ring true as spontaneous. At. All.

This was a currently active firefight with a known shooter in a known location. I don’t see any difference between killing him with a high power rifle, and sending in the bomb on the robot, or firing a bazooka at him, or throwing a hand grenade at him. The police apparently attempted for hours to talk him down, but to no avail. How many more cops should have been sacrificed?

Yep. Time to ban that red black and green tricolor. Extremist. Racist. Violent.

Deo vindice.

“Would you rather a sniper had taken him out from a distance?”

Actually, yes, I would prefer that.

This sets a new precedent regarding the usage of drones/robots on U.S. soil. God forbid, imagine Hillary gets elected, and achieves her goal of destroying the 2A, and citizens are ordered to turn in their firearms. There will be plenty of patriots who will absolutely not comply. In order for the Clinton2 administration to show they mean business, they will have to make examples of people. So you’ll have individuals or families holed up in their home, surrounded by cops in all the latest tactical gear, with the occupants saying “come and take em”. Due to the new policy of allowing the use of armed drones and robots, and to ‘ensure officer safety’, they’ll just send in an armed drone/robot to blow up the ‘rebel’, and the cops get to “go home safe” that night. It doesn’t sound as appealing in this scenario, huh.

Who were the other 3?

On news, they are acting like it is a lone gunman, however, there were 3 others—at least one was a shooter. Why no info on these people?
