RE”...SKS is a military-style rifle?...”
Wellllll, yes, technically, it IS... but a very OLD “military-style” carbine, developed right at the very end of WWII and replaced by the AK47.
They were used in Korea and Vietnam as well. Millions were made by Russian, China, North Korea, East Germany, Yugoslavia, Albania.
So, strictly-speaking, yes, it IS in fact a “military-style” semi-automatic carbine, in the same way that an M1 Garand is a “military-style” firearm. But the distinction will be lost on the non-gun owning sheeple public who they are trying desperately to terrify into compliance. Those people wouldn’t know a 7.62x39 from a .22LR.
Anything they can do to tie the murderer - wait, let me rephrase that - a BLACK LIVES MATTER TERRORIST who murdered police officers - to banning Americans’ guns, they’ll use.
It’s what they do.

Using that logic (it’s not you but you thinking for the gun grabbers), EVERY rifle is a military-styled rifle including my Mosin bolt gun and my 45-70 lever action rifle because the military used that type of rifle at some point.
SKS are good hog hunting rifles and survivalist rifles.
I've got Fox on and Shep just had an "expert" on explaining why the police have shut the downtown area down (they're looking for every 'shell casing' because you can identify the weapon used by the shell casings) and the expert further volunteered that the "assault weapon" used is an AR-15 variant.
So there!
I remember going into pawn shops back in the early 1970s and seeing SKS rifles everywhere, brought back by returning troops. There was NO AMMO to be had anywhere so they had no use for them.
Stay vigilant. I think this is going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.
