Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich tells Breitbart News that he would consider being Republican candidate Donald Trump’s running mate in November’s general election. Asked if Trump has asked him to be running mate, Gingrich said, “No.”
Asked if he would consider being running mate, Gingrich said, “Yes.” But, “I think he has to make that decision.”
“It is the most extraordinary campaign of its time,” the former speaker added. “He’s come out of nowhere and defeated 16 other candidates.”
“If he catches fire he could be much like Reagan in 1980,” Gingrich said, noting that Trump could match those record numbers “if this thing continues to evolve and people learn how dishonest and unserious Hillary Clinton is.”
In conversation, Gingrich habitually rattles off ballot statistics for small nationalistic parties in other parts of the world, from Austria, where the election “is so close they’re going to have to re-run it because the establishment stole about 60,000 votes. The two parties that had run the country came in fourth and fifth,” to Rome, where Virginia Raggi won the mayoral election heading the populist Five Star Movement. To Great Britain.
“The British people heard from the establishment unanimously opposing it and the people just ignored them and rolled over it,” he said before he started talking about the election of a schoolteacher in Iceland.

This has nothing to do with Mr. Trump’s political views or leanings. It has everything to do with keeping Gingrich out of the running for VP.
I could see Newt at Secretary of State.

Gingrich has done a lot of what Trump wants to do before. Gingrich would in truth bring great helpful direction to Republicans, but there is the issue of getting past the dog and pony show of pandering to low information voter for votes and two old guys might be a tougher sell, I don’t know.

As a previous poster pointed it he is extremely well spoken verbally something Trump is in dire need of. He knows the landscape can debate with the best of them and knows Washington inside and out. Once onboard I bet he is as loyal to Trump as they come
In my estimation that is nothing but a hit piece. The FEC (like the IRS) has been transformed into a partisan attack squad by the ‘RATS, and I wouldn’t trust them as much as I trust Hillary Rotten Criminal to secure her emails.
When they start throwing out institutional corrupt ‘RATS, then I’ll believe the FEC is capable of conducting fair and impartial investigations. If Hunter were a RINO in good standing with House RINO Paul Ryan, nobody would have heard anything at all about this or any other ‘issue’ Hunter might have.

Up until his comments about white America yesterday I was a big fan of Newt for VP. No any longer, Newt should have kept his mouth shut. His comments reminded me of Cruz’s comments blaming Trump for the anti-Trump riots.
I was hoping he would pick a black or Hispanic female to neutralize Hitlerys only line of attack towards him, that he is “racist” and a “misogynist”, that once that was neutralized she would basically have nothing to use against him. But on the other hand it would be obvious to people why he picked that kind of running mate just and could make him look like a fraud as well, so I really think like you said new blood would be his best choice. He is literally running to save the nation from the corrupt punks who are embedded like tics in our government. Trump needs to run as the Fumigator who will fumigate Washington and clean out all the vermin. All voters, even psycho Democraps know Washington is out of control with the corruption and focusing on that alone could be enough to put him over the top and finally put an end to the Clinton political Holocaust. She loses this election, we will finally be rid of them. If she win, God help us.

Newt would be great as a Chief of Staff, but the VPs first task should be to get the guy who is the #1 spot on the ticket elected. I'm not sure that Newt can do that.
