Putin is not a nice guy. Putin is a patriot of his nation. Obama acts like he is a nice guy but is a vicious left wing provocateur and is not a patriot of our nation.

Putin is fighting for the right side. His side is bad but is far less worse than the other side. His side gives stability to Syria. Our side is a tool of instability and a danger to us. Putin views the world plainly, Obama’s view of the world brings chaos and death.

Obama is either a fool, or a very brilliant man trying to bring in a new Caliphate. I hope he is just a fool, but I think he is brilliant.

But all the same, American weapons being used to shoot down Russians, is insanity.

Understand your sentiment but Russian weapons have been shooting down Americans since the 1950's. This is what happens when a country decides to put its own troops into harms way. Until now the one time Russian forces were directly and overtly (they still won't admit what they're doing in the Ukraine) involved in conflict outside their own territory, the now independent Soviet republics, or a Warsaw Pact "neighbor" was Afghanistan. That experience put them right off foreign adventures for around thirty years. We'll have to see whether this Syria operation has a similarly discouraging outcome for them.

Keep in mind in the not-to-distant-future, we may be allies with the Russians in the fight to destroy the muslims.

If he is so brilliant why is he so easy to figure out? He was an organizer of community illiterates. He promised hate and change for America and he is delivering his venom with the help of an equally corrupt old media and organizations funded by Soros, and the muslim world. Most of knew he was a muslim plant prior to the 2008 election.

Let us not forget the “fast and furious” gun found in the French shootings.

Helluva shot with a TOW; the system is designed (primarily) for use against tanks and other vehicles moving on the ground.

However, the pilot was flying straight and level, which makes it easier to engage with a wire-guided weapon like a TOW. Looked like the missile took off the MI-25’s tail rotor, which put it into a fatal spin.

There have been a number of shoot-downs of Syrian regime aircraft over the past few weeks. “War is Boring” claims the rebels have managed to put a few captured SA-8 TELARs (transporter/erector/launcher and radar) back into action, and taking out several fixed wing and rotary acft from the Syrian Air Force.

It is a bit surprising that the rebels have been able to restore SA-8s to operational service. Probably no shortage of former SAM technicians who are now aligned with the rebels, but the SA-8 is a 70s era system and parts are in short supply, including working missiles. But the SAF really doesn’t have any SEAD capabilities left, so as long as the rebels can keep the SA-8s in service, they will keep knocking down regime aircraft.

Another interesting note: some of the pilots killed in the shootdowns have been flag officers, along with Colonels. That is probably another reflection of casualties, defections and the fact that Assad’s military has always been top-heavy.

Would be interesting to know if this is a TOW Obama gave ISIS or one that came through Libya via Benghazi?

How likely it is that it even was a TOW?

A TOW is very accurate, the helo likely wasn’t flying over water. To be sure, look for the wire.

Jeremy Binnie of IHS Janes says the helicopter was Mi-35M not Mi-25 as the Russians claimed and it is unlikely it was an anti tank missile of any kind.
