My son is a Marine. He was a marksman with rifles and pistols before he set foot in USMC boot camp. His training in aikido moved him to the front of the class in specialized hand to hand in boot camp. He’s a real estate broker today and finishing a degree in nuclear physics.
Seems we belong to the same family. My son is a Marine as well, retired after 20+ years Airborne, ANGLICO...First Gulf War.
I taught him to shoot when he was small and he grew up hunting. First Day in boot camp he shot expert and instructor asked where he learned to shoot. “My mom taught me.”
He is an excellent shot and has taught many others the finer points of marksmanship. I think every child should be taught the safe handling of weapons. There wouldn’t be “accidents” that way. I’ve taught my children and grandchildren as well as a lot of women. I still enjoy hunting and trap shooting as well. Gunpowder is in my blood.
